Can somebody explain to me what a railroad type shirt is?

I wondered that too but I think it could be referring to something like this:

Similar to what an old railway worker would wear?

Interesting. Would this be clothing given by a company like a sort of uniform? Would you buy a shirt like that from a thrift shop? Nothing about cause of death. Did he drink himself to death or was the use of alcohol the offset to his death, because that is what it sounds like, describing an empty wodka bottle.

ETA It's called workers hickory striped denim or the like. To answer my own question I think it's thick and durable. Not necessarily railroad clothing, unless it's a typical model, with logo, especially made for railroad workers.

The whole outfit suggests someone who worked the railroads, the dungarees ans boots as well , but I'm wondering if this was just fashionable at the time?

I'm always interested in what kind of music people listened to when they passed. This UID was listening to the Rolling Stones. Of course he could have listened to an older released album, but in 1986 'Dirty Work' was released with one number standing out to me 'Sleep tonight'. The album 'Steel Wheels' was released in August, 1989 so that couldn't have been the one.

Yes, it does, but it "feels" like such an old outfit. I was searching for a picture of rail road workers in 1989, but I couldn't find it (yet) Somehow I have the feeling they might have already wore fluor jackets, but I'm not sure.

Yes I agree, I think by then they were!
This outfit almost feels like a railway worker from a waaaaay earlier time. Like the below, the guy in front is even wearing what looks like a black and white railway shirt.
