GUILTY NM - 11 children found in "filthy" compound with little food, training to commit terrorism, Taos, Aug 2018

I'm having trouble with the family tree. Were any of the women who were arrested actual siblings to SIW? I'm seeing supporters of the group on FB calling the women sisters, but I can't figure out if that's a real thing or a Muslim thing.

Hujrah and Subhannah Wahhaj, who is married to Morton, are Wahhaj Sr.’s daughters. The younger Wahhaj is married to Leveille, the New York Post reported citing public records and statements the imam made in a January Facebook post.

Two of them are his bio sisters.

This is one of the sister's old blogs where she talks a lot about her family. Hope this is okay to post.

Jany's Good Reads profile only has one book she wants to read:

Polygamy in Islam
Polygamy is the Muslim practice most frequently and severely maligned by Westerners and modernist Muslims. This book can be read with profit by all unprejudiced readers who wish to know its justification and rationale.

5 mentally ill people--I guess it's contagious :D:D:D

This article says that the 5 Adults left suddenly, and told no one where they were going or what they were doing. Not even their family members.

They had 11 children with them, who were taken from their comfortable lives, their schools, their friends and families.

And they were taken to a remote dusty desert, where they squatted illegally on the land. They had no clean water source, no bathroom, no clean living space, NO FOOD, .....nothing for the kids.

One of the children, the one they found deceased, was very fragile physically, when he was taken to the desert. Five adults, and none of them realized how dangerous those conditions would be for a disabled, physically fragile 3 yr old?

I see that this has been changed:

Monday, August 13th:
*Detention Hearing (re Child Abuse charges) (@ 2pm MT) – NM – 11 Children (ages 1 to 15 found 8/3/18 in filthy NM compound) – *Siraj Ibn Wahhaj (39) arrested (8/3/18) on suspicion of child abduction of his son Abdul-Ghani (2) reported missing 12/1/17 found buried at compound on his 4th birthday 8/6/18. Hearing on previous warrant that seeks his extradition to face charges of abducting son in Georgia. Also charged (8/3/18) on 11 felony counts of child abuse. Plead not guilty. Held without bond.
8/8/18 Update: To be held without bond, Motions hearing on 8/13 on child abuse charges; Fugitive from justice status hearing on 9/12.

All others time was changed to 2pm. Still no "new" charges on Morton though.

If I have to decide which person seems more credible---the foster mother, or Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, I am going with the foster mother.

Missing: children can be very suggestible and make things up to be pleasing to adults. Known fact. Cf. the McMarten childcare case. Making things up doesn't make kids liars, either.

The foster mother shouldn't be discussing any of this. It is for forensic psychologists, who are trained in taking information from young victims and witnesses. Anything else taints the witness testimony.

The foster mom told authorities... why shouldn’t she have discussed that info with LE? It’s not like she’s giving media interviews or discussing with anyone other than LE AFAIK. We don’t know what the conversation was between her and the victim.

It is possible the foster parents are overhearing the children's conversations and/or documenting odd comments from the children. That would be more fruitful than pumping them for information. This is similar to a child of divorce; kids hate to be asked questions by their parent during visitation, they parrot back what the other parent has told them to say, they repeat what has been programmed into them. The kids belief system is that of the adults in their lives. I would expect law enforcement would need the children's comments as part of their investigation.

There are some very troubling tweets from an NBC reporter. I will post some of them.

Gadi Schwartz‏Verified account @GadiNBC 2h2 hours ago
Prosecutors closing, saying a 13 year old and a 15 year old were talking about being trained in weapons tactics & getting rid of government institutions, a dead child, letters to others saying bring guns, etc. Says looking at the totality, suspects should be kept detained

[ the judge did not detain them though. They had 20k bond and house arrest, I believe.]

Judge is back- says what she heard today are troubling facts about numerous children in far from ideal circumstances living in an unconventional way.... says most troubling fact is the young child who died.

Sheriff says Siraj Wahhaj was armed with an AR15 and a pistol when taken into custody... and a boy was also found with a holster, later telling investigators that he was told to arm up by Siraj and armed himself during the raid.

Sheriff says the deceased child was wrapped in cloth and plastic.

  2. Gadi Schwartz‏Verified account @GadiNBC 4h4 hours ago
FBI says that the children told them about rituals that were performed on the small 3 year old child Abdul. Says the children reported that Siraj would place his hand on the child's forehead and repeat verses from the Koran. Says the boy died during one of those rituals in Feb.

New conversation

  • Gadi Schwartz‏Verified account @GadiNBC 4h4 hours ago
The boy then told the FBI they were trained on how to attack "corrupt institutions" including financial institutions. Said they would carry out attacks by telling people about their message and if they didn't accept the message they would kill them or detain them
