GUILTY NM - 11 children found in "filthy" compound with little food, training to commit terrorism, Taos, Aug 2018

So, they just got out on bail? Wow, good job.
It's going to be a matter of time until they find the kids and take them from the foster homes.
Just wait and see. Someone else is going to get hurt.

Or retaliate for arresting them in the first place.

All 5 suspects are still inside Taos Detention center contrary to reporting from other national networks. At least 4 of them are expected to be released today.

New Mexico compound judge has history of issuing low bail to violent offenders

New Mexico compound judge has history of issuing low bail to violent offenders

Judge Sarah Backus, an elected Democrat, ordered the two men and three women to wear ankle monitors, have weekly contact with their attorneys and not consume alcohol or own firearms while on bail. She said although she was concerned by “troubling facts,” prosecutors failed to articulate any specific threats to the community.
.......

Evidently he could kill everybody in the compound and that would be OK as long as he or they are not a treat to the community.
Nevermind that the kiddos were being trained to kill kids in school.

Well alrighty then.

Eta If they do anything wrong while being supervised she should be disbarred. She should be now.

Judge is getting threats.
"The Taos County District Court building, as well as nearby administrative buildings, are being evacuated due to what officials are calling "a credible threat" against the judge who denied a detention motion for the adults arrested at a northern New Mexico compound earlier this month."

This is just utter BS. What a joke.

Defense attorneys, meanwhile, said a double standard was at play, asserting that the occupants were more or less cooperative as the compound was being raided. They told Backus in court that if the defendants were white, Christian and armed, "we might not be here today."

"What I’ve heard here today is troubling, definitely. Troubling facts about numerous children in far from ideal circumstances and individuals who are living in a very unconventional way,” Backus said."

Yes, avoid words like starvation, malnutrition and filth and call it "far from ideal" and "unconventional". It sounds less criminal that way. That family of thirteen children was "unconventional" and the situation was "far from ideal" and they are still in jail awaiting trial .... as they should be. The Turpin case.

Edit to add name of other case.

Apparently the defense attorneys do not know about the other case either. And I don't think those white Christian's had firearms either. Nor were there reports they were training their kids to kill. I am not defending white christians. I am saying bond should have been denied just like in that other case. And perhaps more so because Of the guns and firearm training.

There are plenty of 'white, Christian' families that are arrested for neglect, or child abuse, if their kids are malnourished and living without basic needs being met.

I can assure you, if a 'white Christian' family had illegally taken a child, away from another parent, stopped giving the medically ill child access to necessary medical care, and then wrapped the child in a blanket upon his death, and kept him in the living compound, THEY WOULD BE IN JAIL>

On Tuesday, a family member told CNN it was Leveille who wrote a letter to Wahhaj's brother in December, asking for money and weapons.

"Take all your money out the bank and bring your guns," said the letter, addressed to "Muhammad."

"Allah says He will protect you always, so follow until He makes you die as a martyr as you wanted and the only way is by joining the righteous (us)."

Leveille also warns Wahhaj's brother not to tell his father, because if he does, "you will put all of us in danger. So DON'T."
