Hmm, I'll look for it. There's probably multiple Reddit threads. Was her grandmother's name Becca?

The post was about a year ago on the gratefuldoe subreddit. The poster said she and her mother submitted DNA and that they did have DNA on file for Becca. Updates from the OP say they are still waiting on results but a photo they had posted of their grandmother looked identical to Becca imo.

Hopefully this will lead to answers. Even if it isn't the grandmother, we can know there is dna on file somewhere for comparisons, but also research if the case is ever taken for igg

The tip about her being Becca from Los Angeles County came (so I'm told) from the man seen in the photo they found in the room with her. I get the impression he hadn't known her for very long when she died, but I'd still say he's credible.

Not from Eduardo directly, right? Because he would've been dead. He did have addresses in LA and Arizona, though.

LE must not have given their best effort into this case, considering they had info on the guy from the front desk. Maybe because it was ruled a suicide, but they should've investigated all leads until she was identified (and seriously, they shouldn't have cremated someone unidentified). I don't have any doubt that it was a suicide, though, since the room was locked from the inside and there was only one way in/out.

Just found the Reddit threads (there's 4 of them)... Oh God, the woman who posted them was also abandoned by her drug-addicted mother. Hopefully she's OK now. And even though her mother did a horrible thing, hopefully she straightened herself out and is doing well, also.

The clerk at the Super 8 front desk confirmed that Eduardo was the guy in the photo. His family said that wasn't him in the photo, which can be taken with a grain of salt (they may have wanted to protect him from anything that may or may not have happened, and that would be the only 100% verification that he was with the deceased), but they did confirm that it was his signature that the motel had.

There’s an interesting post by a Reddit user who thinks Becca was actually her grandmother, last time she says her family knew about her whereabouts was in 1991 in the New Mexico area!! I was wondering if I can post the thread link here?

They more than likely just looked similar enough that the clerk was mistaken. Police seem certain that the guy who gave them the Becca tip in 2021 is the guy in the photo with her. They even cropped him out of the image on the ViCAP alert since he's no longer unidentified.

I guess another possibility is that photo guy could've checked in using Eduardo's details, for whatever reason.

Good news for the Reddit poster, it might not have been accurate that Becca never gave birth. The detective said that the autopsy doesn't indicate that one way or the other.

Bumping this tread. This case has always been one that particularly intrigues me. I really hope they can identify her sometime soon. What I found interesting is that I cannot find any information about the brand of the top she was found wearing. The brand is said to be "Trends". Does anyone know anything about this brand? Like when it was actively selling clothes, where their locations were, etc.? If that brand was a smaller brand at the time, maybe that can help trace where she was possibly from? Also, it seems as if some people have already looked into this, but maybe if someone has access to airplane passenger records from flights around that time, maybe those could help at least narrow down possible names? Maybe the airport records also have other information that could aid in her identification? What do you all think?
