Bumping up for Angela. I think she is still missing, because there is a FB group for her with a post from 2021.

Angela Kelton-McManes, 43, Jal, 14 May 2019 Missing

A few min's ago, I saw (part of) a TV news story about LE discovering evidence of 10-20 human SKULLS - I'm guessing bone fragments, not intact skulls - at a house in Jal, NM. several days ago.

The story included Angela's name & pic but did not say that she (her remains) has been identified from the evidence collected.

The evd. was taken to the Office of Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for analysis & hopefully identification.

No charges filed yet, suspect not named, per Lea County Sheriff's office.

Just found the article on KRQE TV stations' website.

I hope this helps solve MisPers case for Angela's family. And for other families awaiting for word of their loved ones.

@al66pine

Thank you for the link.
How very sad this is for her family, either way.

I hope this is just a mentally ill man who didn't harm anyone himself but collects bones from an ancient graveyard, or something along those lines. But if they are victims from modern times, hopefully the remains can be identified through DNA(?)

There is interesting information in this article including why Angela is being linked to this and that the man who owns the house that was searched by LE reportedly told investigators he purchased the remains online.

  • #33
According to KOB, the man said someone bought the skulls from an online source. Officials are working with an anthropologist to determine whether that is true, KOB reported.

….

Sheriff Corey Helton told KOB, "I know our viewers are concerned, but I can tell you, we don’t have a serial killer walking around."

Bone (Fragments?) Purchased Online?

@ChatteringBirds Thx for catching & posting this.

Not gonna search Amazon or ebay, but I imagine they can be found somewhere online. Wondering if the merch was actually described as being HUMAN bones.
What else was in this man's BROWSER HISTORY?

FWIW.
Jal, NM population = 2202. 2020 census.

"Evidence of 1O - 20 Human Skulls"

W. the evidence of skull bone (fragments?) being recovered only a week or two ago, who provided this number?

Wondering about how this number was calculated. Eyeballing the pieces, DNA, or ____?

@10ofRods or others who may know? TiA

Nov 14, 2024 article - according to this, there appears to be no link between the remains and Ms McManes. I started a new thread on WS (NM - Cecil Villanueva, in custody after several skull fragments collected, Nov 2024) under Crimes in the News. These two may need to be combined if a link is discovered?

[…]

As of Thursday, November 14, LCSO said there does not appear to be a link between the remains and that of Angela McManes, who went missing from Jal in 2019. The only association between McManes and this case was the proximity of her home and the location of where the skull fragments were located.

Nov 18, 2024 update

[…]

The bone fragments are under analysis for possible connection to Angela McManes, a woman who went missing in 2019 and lived near the property where the skulls were found. However, police clarified in an updated news release there is currently no link between the bones and McManes, only the proximity of where she lived and where the remains were found.
