"ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- A 15-year-old accused of killing two teenagers in December appeared in court Wednesday.

Investigators believe Julio Fabian Almentero is responsible for the murders of Ahmed Lateef and Collin Romero....

Prosecutors want Almentero to remain behind bars pending trial. The hearing on the motion will take place in District Court.

In the preventative detention motion, the district attorney states that several months after the teens' deaths, Almentero was known to have been at the party where Sean Markey was shot and killed.

A suspect has not been named in Markey's death. "

"...Jimmie Dunbar Atkins is one of four charged with killing 14 and 15-year-olds Collin Romero and Ahmed Lateef on the West Mesa after recording their torture on Snapchat. Monday, he was supposed to go on trial for robbing several people at a house party back in November with another suspect in the murders, Stephen Goldman.

Atkins pleaded guilty to armed robbery, conspiracy and aggravated assault. Prosecutors agreed to an 18-year sentence that would be served at the same time as the sentence for the murders if he’s convicted, meaning he would face no additional time...."
