GUILTY NM - Craig Cavanaugh, 44, Mazatzal Casino, Payson, 4 July 2019

I have nowhere go with a theory as to what happened. None of this makes sense.

The men using credit cards are not suspects. Clearly stated. LE must have text and location information for all players that explains this, because it doesn't add up.

Preplanned suicide?
I'm in the same boat. What are we missing?

CC was seen in Payson AZ, is believed to have been with the two suspects there, and his phone pinged there – all on July 4.

The next day, July 5, CC is missing, his truck is missing, and his credit cards are missing.

A month later - Aug 5 - his remains were located just outside Heber, AZ; information leading to the remains came from one of the suspects. Heber AZ is NE of Payson AZ – back in the direction from which CC came.

A week after his remains were found - Aug 12 - his truck was found in an undisclosed location in NM – also back in the direction from which he came.*

So, at least one of the suspects, if not both, went back in the direction from which CC came, left his body near Heber and continued driving back to NM. Was the truck found at someone's home, somewhere while it was being driven, dumped, sold…? Is the reason they didn't reveal the location because the suspect is cooperating?

Meanwhile, CC’s credit cards were used in Payson and then went another direction – SW - and were then used between July 5–7 in Glendale AZ and Peoria AZ by men who are not suspected in Craig’s disappearance. How did these guys get CC's credit cards?

*I-40 in this link is a random marker - we don't know where exactly the truck was found.

:confused::eek: and a MOO

CORRECTION:

CC was seen in Payson AZ, is believed to have been with the two suspects there, and his phone pinged there – all on July 4.

On July 12 his truck was found in an undisclosed location in NM – in the direction from which he came.*

A month after his disappearance - Aug 5 - his remains were located just outside Heber, AZ; information leading to the remains came from one of the suspects. Heber AZ is NE of Payson AZ – in the direction from which he came.

So, it appears that at least one of the suspects, if not both, went back to NM, leaving his body near Heber AZ along the way.

I'm still baffled by the guys being in possession of his credit card (and apparently pretty immediately after he went missing) NOT being the same suspects as the ones in his death....
what on earth happened to Craig?!

Two men accused of first-degree murder of missing Farmington man Craig Cavanaugh
[...]

Shawn Eckard and Jason Eric Johnson were indicted in the death of 44-year-old Craig Cavanaugh, according to a Coconino County Sheriff's Office press release.

Police served the warrant to Eckard on Feb. 28. He is in the custody of the Arizona Department of Corrections on unrelated charges, according to Coconino County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jon Paxton.

Johnson is in the custody of the Colorado Department of Corrections on unrelated charges and was served a warrant on March 5.

[...]

During the investigation of the case, authorities released photos of two men who were believed to have used Cavanaugh's credit cards in the Phoenix area.

The cards were used between July 5 and July 7, but the men in the photo are not Eckard or Johnson, according to Paxton.

[...]

Since Cavanaugh's body was found, detectives for Coconino County have been investigating the case as a homicide.

They presented evidence to the Navajo County Attorney’s Office for charging, and the case was later presented to a grand jury.

I’m thinking the two who used the credit cards may have found them in CC’s abandoned car. It sure took a while for an arrest, seeing as one of the arrested led police to the body months ago.
Hoping for swift justice
