GUILTY NM - Gary & Linda Haas, both 61, killed by escapee, Quay County, 2 Aug 2010

The other two dogs which are with family are really cute (from the video). They also appear to be pure-bred shih-tzu dogs. So if somebody did find the missing dog it would not be surprising at all if they kept the dog-one can only hope.

There's a video of the dogs somewhere? Where? I missed it...

I wonder if police actually saw the three dogs, because there she is in the last photo with a small dog. Seems like she likes dogs, and one dog is missing.

I wonder too. The news reports have shifted from them saying there were three dogs on the scene. Now they are saying there were only TWO dogs on the scene, and that no one has seen the third dog. Dogs usually would stick together. Makes me wonder if one of the dogs is with the fugitives. I don't get why the story keeps changing. Very frustrating. But it also seems if they thought that would be true, they would mention it...

Yes, why would one run off and the other two stay? Of course it's possible but there is a photo of her holding a small dog, so clearly she likes dogs. Could the two of them have taken one of the dogs?

Are there any pictures of this dog that is missing ?

I can't find any images, but the dogs are shih tzu dogs. The missing dog "Bear" is described as a black shih tzu, and there are plenty general images of black shih tzu dogs to give an idea of what "Bear" looks like.

Little update:

It is believed they are still driving the 1997 Nissan Sentra sedan (gold, grey, or tan in color). The Sentra originally bore Arizona license plate 620 PFV, however, the plate may have been switched

Truckstops are now being considered as a likely area they may be visiting for showers, etc.

Authorities continue to release new information on the couple.

“Welch is missing part of her right index finger … she smokes her cigarettes with her ring and middle finger,” John Walsh said on Saturday's "America's Most Wanted" TV show.

I've tried and tried to get a picture of Bear, but to no avail. It is very frustrating. Bear is black and has white from his chin to his chest.

Any news on whether police actually saw Bear or was he not seen since his owners were murdered?

" Bear" may have been in the trailer with his owners.

There was no body found. One would think something would have been left if Bear was in the trailer.

Sadly, that might be true. The reports said they only found two rib cages and one skull from the people, so I don't think there would have been much left of a small dog. One of the other dogs had a bad burn on its back and burned pads on its feet.:furious:

The part that bothers me is how the news accounts keep changing. Was there or wasn't there a third dog when rescuers showed up? Now it sounds pretty clear that there wasn't.

I also would hope the guy they caught would tell the truth about the dog at the very least. Unless they did take it with them; he'd be very quiet then because it would be quite a clue.

I understand this totally, nothing can be done for this couple now, I just pray that someone found bear and does not realize what they found. I guess what I am trying to say is I really hope the little guy is okay..... It tugs at my heart for him to go through so much and then be lost...alone....just so sad.

I sent it out to all the local dog lists (I'm in NM), got it on the local news, and I have been checking the found dogs on Craigs lists, the paper, and the shelters daily. I admit I am a dog lover, but it really bothers me that someone would kill a dog who certainly cannot testify and has done nothing. I hope Ms. Welch rots in hell for not only what she did to the very nice people, but for what she did, or allowed to happen, to Bear. In my opinion it is worse because she supposedly loves dogs.

Ok, I will shut up, but I am so saddened about my fellow rvers (my retired husband and I rv with our dogs too), but I am really upset about little Bear.:furious:

Where are the two of them? It's mind boggling they are able to stay on the run for so long.
And there have been no credible reports of anybody seeing them either for while.

FLAGSTAFF - Authorities say an escaped Arizona inmate might have some survival skills, allowing him and his accomplice to hide out in remote locations.

The last credible sighting of John McCluskey and Casslyn Welch, his cousin and fiancee, was 11 days ago in Montana. Welch is accused of helping McCluskey and two other inmates escape from the state prison in Kingman, Ariz., on July 31.

I'd appreciate it greatly if someone could please point me to the original thread about the couple in New Mexico (from before their murders were linked to the prison escapees). I appear to be search impaired today.

SANTA ROSA, N.M. — Lost in the Bonnie and Clyde tale of Arizona fugitives on the run for two weeks is the grisly slaying of an Oklahoma couple whose bodies were found in a burned-out travel trailer on a remote ranch in eastern New Mexico.
Police have linked the deaths of Gary and Linda Haas last week to the inmates and the woman who helped them escape, but they are keeping a tight lid on what happened as the couple traveled to an annual camping trip with friends in Colorado.
