Gloria King

In a second unsolved case, police are also asking for information about a Gallup native whose whereabouts have been unknown since 1996.

Toadlena-Pablo said 42-year-old Gloria King's ex-husband John King reported his wife missing after the pair allegedly lost one another as they were traveling in separate vehicles from Albuquerque to Gallup.

Gloria King's vehicle was later found abandoned at the El Rancho Hotel and she has not been seen since Aug. 9, 1996. Gloria King is Native American, about 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighed about 115 pounds. She also has a scar behind her left ear lobe. Toadlena-Pablo said King left behind several children.

Anyone with information about the case, is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 722-6161 or Detective Reyes at 863-9365.

I wonder if there were any surveillance cameras around the area where her vehicle was found? El Rancho is an old historic hotel. Or even at the traffic stop lights. Perhaps see who might have followed her into the parking lot. That's if she drove her vehicle from Grants to Gallup. That is about an hour away. Somewhere within that hour she either made an unscheduled stop, to use the restroom or whatever, she might've been carjacked and perhaps was abducted or killed at that location. The abductor abandoned the vehicle or they took her from the parking lot in Gallup and took another vehicle from there onto the freeway, I40 is only a few seconds away from there. I hope she is still alive and is returned to her family.

The question that remains in this case is... why were they traveling in separate vehicles? Was it due to a space issue? Was it a move? Were they separated? Why do I imagine them both driving in different cars, then getting together for lunch, and then never seeing each other again? It's very strange...
Whatever it is
Rest in peace

Were there child custody or financial disagreements? I don't think her ex-husband's story is odd, though, if they needed to bring both cars to Farmington. Sounds reasonable to me if they were amicable.

But that leaves the likelihood that she met with the wrong person. And you have to wonder how and why. Carjacking? Robbery? It seems unlikely, but it's possible. I hope her family will get answers.

All JMO.
