Circumstances of Disappearance
Jill was reported missing by her parents on September 30, 1995. According to an investigation, Jill was last seen at the Frontier Restaurant in Albuquerque, NM during the late hours of September 30, 1995 or early morning hours of October 1, 1995.

Jill had been to the Ranch Bar with some friends and was last seen with Glenda "Jesse" Ray when they left to go to the Frontier Restaurant.

According to witnesses and Glenda Ray, Jill and Glenda were involved in a domestic argument. Glenda advised investigators she last saw Jill at the Frontier Restaurant when Glenda left with her father, David Parker Ray, driving to Elephant Butte Reservoir in southern New Mexico. Jill has never been seen since that time.

In 1999 David Parker Ray and Glenda Ray were arrested in Elephant Butte, NM for the kidnapping and torture of three women. David was eventually convicted for these crimes and Glenda pleaded guilty to the kidnapping of one of these women.

An extensive investigation conducted by the FBI, NM State Police and the Albuquerque Police Department lead investigators to believe David was involved in the kidnapping, torture and murder of up to 40 women. To this date no remains have ever been located of any of the suspected victims, including Jill Troia.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Jill Troia, or any other victim in this case, is urged to contact law enforcement.
Jill was adopted as an infant by US parents.

Some more info being reported by Fox today:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/10/10/bodies-40-sex-torture-victims-to-be-sought-in-new-mexico-lake/

"Police have reopened the unsolved case of an Albuquerque woman missing for 16 years after authorities received new information connected to a man who boasted in writings that he was responsible for around 40 victims."
(snipped)

"Police suspect that 22-year-old Jill Troia, who disappeared in 1995, is among the possible victims buried somewhere in vast terrain of the reservoir in southern New Mexico."

(snipped)
"Albuquerque police have long believed Ray and his daughter were connected to Troia's disappearance, which remains Albuquerque Police Department's only known cold case related to David Parker Ray. He died in prison in 2002."

Moving Jill's case up. She is not forgotten.

It seems likely that she was a victim of Ray. Who knows how many people he really killed and where they are all at. So sad.

Somewhat OT, but The Frontier is a great restaurant and right on Route 66.

RIP, Ms. Troia!

It's kind of strange the Cynthia Hendy would pop up in Hamilton, MT after serving her sentence, but everyone has to go somewhere. Did she have a friend in the area? Hendy did have friends, and they were just like her.

"Glenda later told police she left Troia at the Frontier Restaurant and left with her father, David Parker Ray, and that she and David went to the Elephant Butte Reservoir in southern New Mexico."

So it sounds very possible they dumped victims into the reservoir. I wonder what authorities have done as far as searching there. What if many missing people are there? All IMO/JMO.
