The remains of a man reported missing in June 2017 were found in a remote area, Lincoln County Undersheriff Mike Wood reported Monday.
Jose Flores was 26 when he was last seen after his car was abandoned in the Hale Lake area east of Ruidoso Downs. The cause of death is not being released.
On April 5, the sheriff's office received a call about human remains found in what Wood described as a "remote location."
The sheriff's lead investigator assigned to Flores' disappearance was dispatched to the site to determine if the remains possibly could be Flores, according to Wood's release on the discovery.
New Mexico State Police crime scene technicians were called to assist with evidence gathering at the site. Officials with the Office of the Medical Investigator took custody of the remains for positive identification. ...
It would be informative if they had told us how far from his truck his remains were found. I hope they will be able to determine a cause of death after so much time has passed.
I'm sad to hear although not surprised. I'm hopeful that LE is not releasing info because it has given them some info as to who duped this gentle man. I hope they figure it out.....waiting for justice for Jose.
