Chavez County deputies are trying to figure out if the body of a woman found inside a pickup truck at a towing yard in Clovis belongs to a missing Roswell woman.

Investigators said the truck belongs to Leatha Tidwell of Roswell, who was reported missing two days ago.

Earlier this week, deputies in Texas arrested a man driving her truck on unrelated charges. The pickup was confiscated and towed to Clovis.

According to the Chaves County Sheriff's Office, the body found in the bed of a pickup truck in Clovis on Wednesday has been positively identified as that of 60-year-old Roswell resident Leatha Tidwell. . .

Allen Dale Bruce, who pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and other charges in the March 2009 killing and dismembering of a Roswell woman, was sentenced Monday to nearly 50 years in a New Mexico prison...

Bruce was accused of hitting Leatha Tidwell in the back of the head with an ax, then cutting off her arms, legs and head and putting the body parts into plastic bags and boxes, loading them into a truck and driving from Roswell to Texas where he was arrested for a probation violation...

Bruce, who had been living with Tidwell and doing odd jobs for her, allegedly killed her after an argument about money.
