Dear PommyMommy,

Yes, this is such a dire and tragic situation and time is of the essence (as it always is

If people and businesses check their security cams and notify police (maybe they've already done so) if the vehicle is on the footage, maybe the L.E. have some good leads and are getting close.

I hope, along with everyone, that they locate Osiel and he is alive. Although two days have passed, there is still some hope. There is always hope.
Thank you, Zen, and it's good to see you.

I am just so sad for this little guy who has lost his mama and may be in Mexico now for all we know. It is only a 3.5 hour drive. If that Yukon had a mere 1/2 a tank of fuel, he may not have even had to stop. :(

2003 GMC Yukon
Fuel Tank Capacity 26 gallons
MPG 14 city / 17 hwy, Avg = 15.5
Distance 205 miles from Roswell to US/Mexico border

Two nights ago, we had an AA for another little guy and a similar situation. Dad stabbed the mother multiple times and fled with the baby. Mom lived, dad was arrested, child is safe - all resolved in a few hours.

So yes, there is always hope.

Amber Alert for 3-year-old boy, mother murdered, police say
[...]

Osiel was last seen on Sunday, January 5 at a residence on the 600 block of East Forest Street in Roswell.

"Prior to today, there had been no missing person's report or anything," said Todd Wildermuth, a public information officer for the Roswell Police Department. "Until the deceased woman was discovered and we responded there, it was then following that investigation, that we learned that she has a 3-year-old son that was missing."

I’ve been so worried for little Osiel since the Amber Alert went out with the info that he was last seen on Sunday! His father had such a head start on L.E.. The fastest route from Roswell to Juárez is just 3 hrs 40 mins, up to 4 hrs 45 minutes if avoiding tolls and highways. If he headed towards Mexico as the alert suggested he might, they could have been well over the border by the time anyone knew Osiel was even missing. :(

We believe there is a strong possibility he left the state,” said Roswell police spokesperson Todd Wildermuth. “Because of that potentially crossing state lines, we have the assistance of the FBI also."

People in the community were shocked when they learned Mauricio-Sanchez was dead.

“She was just like a mother to me,” said Isela’s co-worker Elisabeth. “(She was) always there to support me in my decisions."

Isela and Elisabeth worked the night shift together at Burger King for more than a year.

“It's really difficult,” Elisabeth said. “She pushed me to be in this manager position ‘cause I didn't want to be a manager.”
