I was looking at the site for the New Mexico Medical Examiner. I know in the case of Maleah Davis (Texas), we could check the status of her cause of death. Anything like that for New Mexico?

I crossed the river a short while ago and it is Rio Poquito here in Albuquerque. It would not be chilly, even in Espy.
Replying to myself...
This story relates to an incident that happened 2 bridges North of the Santa Clara Bridge. It is the newest bridge in Espanola. The next one South is what we always called the "Old Bridge" and was the only one that crossed the Rio Grande in Espanola until the 1970's. I would guesstimate that the Fairview Bridge is approximately 1-1.5 miles North of the Santa Clara Bridge. The article is from May and run-off would still have been very active. Assume half the water in September. Note: It addresses the unseen dangers of entering or attempting to swim in the Rio Grande.

Not surprising. Each pueblo is a separate nation. So Santa Clara Pueblo (including Gauchopangue) on the west side of the Rio Grande south of Espanola is one nation. Ohkay Owingeh is another nation on the north side - it starts just north of the Walmart and Wendy's - the Dairy Queen where the boyfriend was arrested is in that nation.

This looks like a picture of the Santa Clara Bridge taken in the month of June, looking North. A glimpse of the "Old Bridge" can be seen in the background. This is a good representation of what the river looks like.

FBI takes over investigation into Española girl’s death
[...]

When KRQE News 13 asked the FBI if parents should be worried that a suspect could still be out there, the FBI said they don’t believe the public is at risk.

Police found Renezemae’s body on Wednesday in the Rio Grande on Santa Clara Pueblo land near Espanola. The kindergartner had been missing since Sunday when she was last seen playing in the front yard of her stepfather’s Espanola home. Her stepfather, Malcolm Torres, is still in custody and being questioned.

In a news release sent out on Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s office said the FBI is taking over the case: “Based on the location of the area in which the child went missing and any alleged crimes may have occurred, which appear to be within the boundaries of Santa Clara Pueblo, and the child’s affiliation with the Pueblo.”

[...]

No charges have been filed yet in this case. The FBI still isn’t calling this a murder, however, they’re considering her death suspicious while they await autopsy results.

Grief counselors were available at Eutimio "Tim" Salazar III Elementary, where Renezmae was a kindergarten student, to help children and staff get through the loss.

On Thursday, students could be seen drawing pictures and writing messages for Renezmae.

Gutierrez said Renezmae had missed about a week of school before she was reported missing Sunday.

Thanks, Jethro. This map is from an article to do with power lines but I found it helpful as it shows the pueblo boundaries. MOO

Thanks as always for everything you do for all of us.

This information leaves me feeling very uneasy.

Not a good sign.

May all of the truth come out of the darkness into the light. :(

Is that too dumb though? It seems like such a remote, small place for a stranger predator, but a river dump seems more like what a stranger would do than a family or friend. ... Thinking about your post, I just got that teenage boy predator vibe off of this case, like that little girl at the mobile home park in WA, Jenise Wright 2014, because of this hasty, sloppy disposal. So very sad.:(
I remember that case, it haunted me. Utterly heartbreaking. Just like this one. :-(

My bolding.

All my bolding.
This may answer my earlier question where I asked if Renezmae was Native American. It hasn't been specifically stated in msm but the U.S. Attorney's statement I bolded above seems to imply that she was connected to the Santa Clara Pueblo. It may not matter, I'm just curious since Federal involvement sometimes means information will be slow in coming.

Renezmae attended Eutimio "Tim" Salazar III Fairview Elementary School, which according to Google Maps is not part of Santa Clara Pueblo, nor is the area she went missing from - msm said near the intersection of South McCurdy Rd. and Tesuque Drive. Torres' home was reported to be on Arch Rd., which is in that same area.

So apart from Renezmae's body being found on the Santa Clara Pueblo is the FBI also saying she was affiliated with the tribe?

I'm so confused! Heck, I still don't know if Torres and Renezmae's mother were living together. Msm reports are all over the place.
