I think that this John Doe is Suki Li, the man shown in the photo. If they really narrowed his age down to 68, which I’m guessing is the age found on his ID, then he would probably go under unclaimed rather than unidentified.

On October 18, 2022, the decomposing remains of a male were found at his own residence.

The male was Asian and estimated to be 68 years old. His name was possibly Suki Li, as found on an ID near the body. This name has not been verified, but Suki Li is suspected to be the name of this male.

He was 5’6” (168 cm) and weighed 120 pounds (54 kg). He had gray hair and brown eyes. He had a white mustache and beard.

If you have any information regarding the identity of the male, you are urged to contact the Santa Fe County Sheriff or the New Mexico OME at the numbers provided on his Namus.

NM has a lot of NamUs cases where the person was found in their home and have a specific age, here's another one. The state is probably just strict on not making an ID without DNA.
