Here’s the Unknown Doe and the last Doe for today. I believe they are in fact the male found on the photo ID. I also believe that this individual was a migrant. I will post this in the unidentified border project too.
I will use male pronouns to refer to the decedent since I suspect that since there is a male’s ID near the body there is a good chance that the decedent was a male.
On September 23, 2022, skeletal remains of a human being were found in Brooks County, Texas. They could not determine the age, gender, or race of the individual.
Near the decedent there was a photo ID with the name “Gerson Omar Leiva Ramirez”. I believe that he is in fact our Doe personally.
The decedent had $301 USD and 200 pesos on his person. Near his remains were several pieces of paper that apparently “appeared to be money but were too damaged”.
He was wearing badly weathered black jeans, dark Nike shoes, green socks, and a black leather belt with a Gucci buckle.
There is a photo of who I believe to be him, as well as a picture of his belt buckle.
