Dr. Berman definitely has some credentials.

A suicideologist? Did that witness just make up that word?

I have heard it a few time previously but it's not used much except by those involved professionally. I, too, have a Ph.D in psychology, my disciplines are probably out of date now.
This witness has excellent credentials, much to my dismay. I hope he doesn't further slam our hopes.

Ok, I'm not sure he can say definitively anything about Tera--he never met her nor analyzed her personally. She was certainly not his patient. He's taking all of this from her texts and her journal, which oftentimes, are fleeting thoughts. I wonder how much he is being paid by the defense?

This maybe enough though to put reasonable doubt in the jury's mind. I hope not!

I hope the PT gives a good cross. I am like you those are just word and her never talked to her, nor any other mental health professional.

Everybody who has testified has adamantly stated she was NOT suicidal. Where this Dr. is getting this from is not accurate pertaining to the suicide risk--he's just reading 'frustrated, insomnia, self esteem,', etc. but nobody has said she was suicidal.

I was thinking the same exact thing as if you read my mind. The defense probably paid a fortune for this expert.

"It's driving me crazy" is not the same thing as "I'm going to put a gun in my mouth and kill myself'. This man is quacking it up for Serna. I hope the prosecution has a suicide expert or at least a psychologist on their witness list to debunk this man's 'theory'.

Plus Dr. just said her marijuana use helped lead up to her suicide but no THC was found in her blood. And even if she smoked a little bit of it consistently then it would be in her blood.

Finally! The prosecution objected and the judge sustained it. Holy cow!

I think this particular note was regarding her leaving him or his leaving her. Not suicide.

I think so too. Did Mrs. Cordova just leave the courtroom?

Is reading out of the diary out of context because he is not reading full passages?

  • #1,853
The statements from 2004, 05, 06, early 07 should not be allowed in. Way too old to be relevant to her death in late 07.
I am hoping all of this negative psychological information about how hateful and mean Levi was to Tera will backfire on the defense and prove to the jury just how capable he was of murdering her.

Morning y'all. Sorta sleepy here  ---who is this guy?

Yes, in my opinion. He's picking and choosing the parts that boost the defense's case. In one sentence she may say 'Levi is so demeaning I just want to disappear, but I love my children so much and can't wait for Christmas".

He said something about suicide having to do with a person's feeling of self worth and feeling of okayness. Okayness? I hope he keeps talking. He is condescending to the jury, he said something like 'if you can try to follow...'

Sorry doc but I'd rather pick my nose and make shadow monsters on the wall with my hands than pay attention.

He is a DEFENSE witness, out of turn because today was the only way he could be there. He is a Dr. of Psychology and an expert in suicides.
