The year GBC gained entry to uni the UQ Engineering TE requirement was 935. Not 900. That is assuming he was eligible to start uni in 1989? I don't know the year, but guessing by his age it was either 88, 89, or at the most outside 90.

I think he was eligible for uni in 1988. The engineering TE is what I remember too from that time but it doesn't effect the case.

Yes, I know that, but I'm a bit of a stickler for a fact. I knew the 89 entry level, so I wanted to correct it from 900 to 935. I know it has no bearing on the case, Seeking, just wanted to clarify. I hope you are not offended by my offering the information.

This is from the Sica trial Judge, which I found very interesting:

Quote

He said motive was not an element of murder and proof of motive was never indispensible to a conviction.

"So here the prosecution does not have to establish a possible motive," Justice Byrne said.

Unquote

I thought motive had to be established in murder cases. Now I'm confused!

Just on the topic of quotes coming from that trial...I'm loving these words...

“Clearly in a circumstantial brief every piece of information is important, it forms a twine, which forms a rope which forms the strength of the brief and that is what we saw today.

Visited that Blog about Qld Cops. IMO a waste of time, written by someone determined to make cops look bad. The blogger quotes about GBC that the police took 'months' to 'pin something on him'. Since the arrest was exactly 7 weeks and 6 days after ABC's disappearance that would make it not even two months. The blogger is out to make QPS look bad. Unless my maths is wrong. Is it?

Thats why I posted the link, I was appalled. (and why a poster reminded me of the blogger)

And she is friends with IW and OW.

I guess if they are offering up $50 000 for bail.. probably reasonable you'd befriend them on facebook, lol.

Sorry Woof, I am not offended by your post and I agree with you about being a stickler for fact. That is why I posted my original post about TE scores just to put the right facts out there. I do think that it is important on this forum for us to base our opinions and thoughts on facts if we can rather than assumptions and judgements of people or situations.

We must be of similar age......though I am probably that one year older than you. This is my first time participating in a forum on the internet. I have found it to be very interesting in so many ways and very informative on so many topics. There are so many different people with varying life experiences and knowledge and different ways of thinking. It is fascinating. To feel people's passion in pursuing justice for Allison and their genuine compassion for the whole situation is heartening too. My children...from teenagers down think that this site is ridiculous........I just tell them that it is like reading a book that is being written on the spot. They don't get it. LOL!

My apologies Woof if my post offended you too. I think on that topic we are on the same page.

All my humble opinion and thoughts.

Thank you for responding. I was correcting Nads with my TE infor. Nads wrote that 900 would gain a person a place at UQ in Engineering, and I knew that for entry in 1989 that was incorrect. Your post actually did say that 900 wouldn't get you into Engineering. Perhaps we are of similar vintage!

he is 41 isn't he? THink its more likely 87 or 88 he would have finished highschool.. I am sure its been printed (when he finished school) in MSM somewhere .. Knowing a family member finished in 1990 and is 3yrs younger than GBC.

I read on the CV document that came in MSM (and I don't know how to link) but remember that it came out in MSM after the bail hearing that he finished school in 1987 which would mean that he was eligible to commence tertiary studies in 1988. The reason that I noticed was that I finished school in the same year, hence my knowledge of the tertiary entrance system at that time and what certain scores would get you into etc. If I have misread please correct me. And like Woof, it is such a significant stage in your life that these things about tertiary entrance scores and what they get you into really stick in your head (yes, even 25 year later). But, like I said in one of my posts, and like Case-Closed said in her post those scores really mean nothing now and really have no bearing on the case.

All my humble opinion.

That is true. But I am now very interested in gauging the TE requirements for that year. Maybe he wanted to go to UQ for commerce or accountancy but didn't get the required TE and settled for business at the IAE. Sleuthing, sleuthing.

Yep.... I agree they do stick in your head. Thats also why I was thinking it was 87 he would likely have finished(sorry I said 87 or 88 as it can quite GBC age.

Agreed its just some trivial information really in regards to the case. But sometimes we get caught up in discussing these sorts of things..

Because the police revealed it as 'murder'. That's why.

Yes Woof, indeed and very easily:

"....But shortly after the grim discovery of her body police had clear views on how Mrs Baden-Clay died, people close to the case have told The Sunday Mail"

http://www.news.com.au/national/all...ret-until-arrest/story-e6frfkvr-1226381604075 :sigh:

Perhaps for myself then the suggestion of no COD mentioned by Defense counsel is :denied: IMO

This was clearly viewed.....and stated.....and linked.....come on newbies shoot me down with links now........I dare ya LJ etal.
