No intruder?

Good question eileen, you've given me some homework... I just love when that happens.....

She did rave about the program, then maybe that particular program omitted those children that would not be functioning members of society....

Didn't the Whites and Steins children go to the same school? I would also think public school would be more lenient with any school absences.

I totally agree Sunni, Justice for JBR, is all that should matter, but sadly Justice does have a price tag.

In PR's words....

Patsy was growing anxious about High Peaks, the school JonBenet and Burke were going to. There were children in some classes who would never be self-sufficient, physically handicapped, but they were being mainstreamed into the classroom. They have a right to be educated, but there were these other intelligent little boys and girls who were growing up to make a living, pay taxes, and they were sitting and waiting. The teacher told me her first obligation was to those handicapped children. And you just wonder how much time in the course of a day is spent on the children who need to be learning so that they can take their place in society; I know the teacher wanted to do more, but there was only one of her and an aide.

When you have money, people and justice are expendable.....

Pithy on thee Sunni, know you not that peasants are to be sacrificed for the Nobles? Fie on thee, crawl back to thy hut and never again speak of thy betters in such a way....

Agatha, when I read that statement by Patsy, I knew exactly what kind of person she was. Her children were too good to be in school with the peasants. I would rather be poor and have love for others than all the riches in the world and have only hypocrites for friends.

If Patsy had a problem with High Peaks, why didn't she send JBR and Burke to a private school? Boulder Country Day School is K-8 and they could certainly afford to send both of them there. Even before I read that excerpt, I always found it strange that Burke and JBR were in public school considering how much Patsy valued status.

Also, according to Boulder school district website, in 2010, JBR and Burke would be sent to Flatirons Elementary School. Obviously, this could have changed in 14 years but it says that High Peaks was open enrollment to all Boulder residents. Did Patsy request that BR and JBR go there? It also says that High Peaks began using their Core Knowledge program in the 1996-97 school year; the year JBR entered the school. Didn't Patsy rave about the program in her Xmas letter?

Burke is busy in his third grade year at a new school named High Peaks. It is a Core Knowledge school which accesses high academics and personal achievement. He loves it! He continues with Boy Scouting and the piano. This winter he is the tallest guy on his basketball team. Summer on Charlevoix was spent taking golf and sailing lessons each day. Burke is quite the sailor!

And as a sailor, he knew about KNOTS.

There should also be the rules of justice. The death of a six year old, should trump the 'haves'. You know, I hope, that I don't mean this personally toward you Agatha, but JBR should be the guiding force to LE.

Someone said in one of these threads that a suspect could not be compeled to be interviewed by LE. As far as I know neither John nor Burke have yet been named suspects, so they should HAVE to comply with the request to be interviewed.

Either that, or maybe there should be a new term. If the police want to question someone about a crime, they could pull 'A Ramsey' and refuse to be questioned. For us peons, that would get us arrested! Suspicion of guilt and obstructing justice!

Unfortunately, this isn't about haves and have nots in this aspect. In this country NO ONE has to talk to police. No one. Even if they KNOW you are guilty. The Miranda Rights start out the same for all, rich or poor: "You have the right to remain silent.." As much as police (and the rest of the public) would want JR and BR to be forced to talk to them or take a polygraph test, it won't happen unless they volunteer to do so, and I think we all know that isn't happening either.

Just read a bit in the Australian version of 'right to remain silent'...

"They may, of course, have something to hide, but that something may simply be shameful and not a crime, or it may implicate others for whom they feel responsible. The supposition that only a guilty person has a reason for not speaking freely to investigating police is an unreasonable assumption." [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miranda_warning"]Australian bit of the Miranda Warning[/ame]

Whilst I agree with the sentiments that it doesn't assume guilt, it still suggests something to hide.

Agatha,
Trish here has headed such campaigns including letters, petitions and calls to the DAs office to continue the fight for justice in this case. I actually thought Burke Ramsey had met with investigators but just read above he too refused through attorney Lin Wood. Unfortunately the evidence in this case points to Patsy and I don't believe they have enough evidence against either Burke or John to issue an arrest. What they both continue to do however is PROVE their guilt through their lack of actions in wanting to get this case solved. Burked could be inlvoved or from the time he was 9 years old he could have been bamboozeled by John Ramsey about not ever talking to the police or anyone for that matter about the case. I find both men dispicable. Certainly there is a whole new team working the case (their whole 5 hours a year they put into it) yet here you have a father and son not even willing to sit down to try and help.

I think just having the Boulder Police Department asking to speak with them ruffles their feathers and sends that fear down both of their spineless backs. The public is not willing to forget JonBenet and for that reason they will always have to sleep with one eye open.

Becky thanks for the nice words. This case to be is the biggest Who Dun it in history even over that of Natalie Holloway, because we already know in that case who actually commited the crime.

I grew up and am now back living in Colorado. I used to live in California. If you wanted your child to have a top notch education, you send them to private school if you live in California. However Colorado's public schools are amoung the best in the nation and Boulder is already a very elite area. Most homes are priced from the 400K up to the millions. I don't even know of a private school in Boulder (although I am sure they have one). Both Burke and JB would have gone to Boulder HS where the Whites eventually went. Great school. I also attended Flatirons elementary when I lived in Boulder. High Peaks was probably newer with less students compared to Flatirons which was overcrowded during that time and yes the Core Knowledge program was probably an incentive to send the kids there.

I have never read that quote above. Intersting about the sailor remark. Sailing lessons each day...hmmm

Hi Nedthan, I believe that quote is from one of Patsy's Christmas newsletters, probably from '95 as I don't think she ever got around to mailing the '96 newsletter.
I'm not trying to insult anyone on the board, but gosh, how I hate those Christmas newsletters. I'm not just talking about Patsy here, I mean ALL of them. There are a few women in my extended family who feel the need to do this every year and honestly, they are nothing but brag-fests. One of my aunts sends it to me and I see this woman every week. I know what her kids, grandkids, and her whole family is doing, heck I even know how her blasted dog is doing.
Sorry, got a little bit carried away with the rant. Please forgive.

In DOI, Patsy said that she didn't like how certain children were being mainstreamed into Burke and JonBenet's classes and given priority over everyone else. It does seem like High Peaks and Boulder schools were top notch for education but Patsy seems to have a specific problem with a practice of theirs, so why didn't send the kids to a private school? Maybe this mainstreaming thing just started when JBR entered the school so they never had time to switch schools for the kids?

Most of us have a love-hate relationships with those Holiday Newsletters! I am one who actually likes to read them (to a point!). I like getting photos better. I would recognize old friends' kids anywhere just from getting their photos each year in a Christmas card. And my old friends say they like getting updates about my family as well, though I never sent a "newsletter". More like a few sentences in the card and a photo.
But I can imagine being the recipient of Patsy's annual "brag-fest". It would give me a headache, for sure, though I'd imagine any mom with a child like JB would certainly put in her latest pageant wins.

Nedthan, I totally agree with publicly calling out the R's, in fact I find it brilliant. My sister and I were talking about starting a Christmas card drive. You know when you get as many people as you can to send cards all at the same time to various persons involved IE...DA's office, LE, the Mayor, Governor, and congressman. Can you picture it 100,000 Christmas cards showing up en-mass, for JBR, demanding something finally be done.... Or how about a "Beer can collector" drive, to earn money for a reward leading to the arrest of the perp, going public with the details. APPLY PRESSURE!!!!!! Stand up and YELL its been long enough, DO SOMETHING!!!!!!

Remember, if you think that you are too small and insignificant too make an impact, then try going to bed with a mosquito in your room. Big or small, you can have an impact....

How about another quote (egad's) It only takes one acorn to grow a whole forest...

Agatha, you are an inspiration!

APPLY PRESSURE!!!!!! Stand up and YELL its been long enough, DO SOMETHING!!!!!!

If you only knew, Agatha!

I know exactly what you mean, Beck. Take my father: he was a blue-collar slob, but people were human beings to him.

Leona Helmsley once said only the little people pay taxes. Apparently she and the Rs are a matched set. Only the little people go to prison, too.

The more I learn about PR, the less sympathy I have for her. (I was already steamed about her comments about how "strange" it was to have black kids in her neighborhood!)

I guess the Rs were bigger than Leona Helmsley. She DID go to prison!

Unfortunately, this isn't about haves and have nots in this aspect. In this country NO ONE has to talk to police. No one. Even if they KNOW you are guilty. Dee Dee, the police have the right to bring folks in for questioning. That doesn't mean they have to answer anything. Yes, there are Miranda rights, but LE has always had the right to question individuals. It just seems to be that in this case they never honestly exercised those rights, up to and including to this day. In this country, the only citizens who get the same treatment are those who can afford it.

This is a long article, but it doesn't say that suspects have a right to refuse police questions, but can refuse to answer. The R's were not named as suspects, so their Miranda rights were not in play.

[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miranda_warning[/ame]

>snip<

The Supreme Court did not specify the exact wording to use when informing a suspect of their rights. However, the Court did create a set of guidelines that must be followed. The ruling states:
“ ...The person in custody must, prior to interrogation, be clearly informed that he or she has the right to remain silent, and that anything the person says will be used against that person in court; the person must be clearly informed that he or she has the right to consult with an attorney and to have that attorney present during questioning, and that, if he or she is indigent, an attorney will be provided at no cost to represent her or him.

There is a lot more information, but by not being a suspect and not being willing to talk to police, wouldn't that be obstruction of justice?

I can't seem to get past the belief that the R's were treated differently due to their 'status' in the community. The BPD spoke immediately with suspects, why did the R's stall from the beginning? Why did they refuse to meet with LE for 4 months?

Q: How did an unknown male deposit his DNA inside JBR's underpants?
A: She did it to herself.

This isn't an answer. It doesn't answer how the unknown male deposited his DNA, and it isnt a known fact that JBR did it to herself. The appropriate answer is "I dont know."

The question falls under the fallacy of presupposition.

Like, "When did you stop hitting your wife?"

Nah, you're just evading the question.

Q: How did an unknown male deposit his DNA inside JBR's underpants?

There's nothing wrong with this question. Its not animal DNA, its unknown male DNA. How did the unknown male deposit it there?

Keep in mind that skin cells from the same unknown male were all over JBR's waistband, enough to produce two complete, separate, and matching DNA profiles.

This evidence spells the end for RDI, they just dont know it.

Your question assumes this male desposited the DNA himself. I could easily be a transfer of DNA.
