Lauryn Martin, a shopper at a Kroger in Texas, told Fox4 that they had been to six stores looking to stock up on items ahead of the storm.
“This is my 6th store I’ve been to today. I started last night but the shelves are all empty,” he said.

a. not thinkingWhy are folks buying frozen food if there is a chance of a power outage?
We do that as hurricane prep. Buy chicken, grill it, put in disposable foil pans. When the power goes out we ice down the food and reheat it on the grill. That way we don’t need power to cook it, just some coals to warm it.Why are folks buying frozen food if there is a chance of a power outage?

Sarasota FL is expecting upper 30s on Monday & Tuesday I think. I’ve got my fuzzy slippers ready. I had to put them into service last week too. My “fake fireplace” gets put into service too. I have a small 900 sq ft house but I hate turning on the heat.Well, it looks like there might not be any shortage of ice, so the meal plan should work out quite nicely! I hope your power stays on and that you don't get an ice storm.

I think most of my garden is toast now. I’ll rip it all out and put in a spring garden after the next cold front moves thru. It’s been unseasonably cold here. Imma wimp!
It never fails, it gets to what we think is cold, and the tourists are swimming in the ocean like it’s the middle of summer.winter veggies: kale, cabbage, broccoli
at least you are not a poor tourist with vaca plans in FL, who thought you could escape the cold, and you need to wear mittens

I remember blizzards as a teen in Pennsylvania and snow drifts above my bedroom windows. So I feel for everyone that’s about to be frigid for days. I have family in Ohio, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Most of them are retired or close to retirement. My one cousin has shoveled his long driveway 3 times this week.
Keep checking on your friends, family, neighbors so everyone survives!
