I think it's interesting that the doctor who prescribed him the valium is a member of "MDVIP" which is a network of physicians and considered "concierge care". Basically you pay between $1,500-1,800 a year as a membership fee to be able to have 24/7/365 access to your physician. Another tidbit that shows how SP needed to be treated as VIP and have people at his beck and call.

Vegas killer described his habits in 2013 testimony
He kept doctor 'on retainer'

By SCOTT GLOVER AND KYUNG LAH , CNN

LAS VEGAS (CNN) - He was a nocturnal creature who gambled all night and slept all day.

He took Valium at times for anxiousness, and had the doctor who prescribed it to him on retainer.

He wagered up to a million dollars a night, but wandered around glitzy Las Vegas casinos in sweatpants and flip-flops, and carried his own drink into the high rollers' area because he didn't want to tip the waitresses too much.

This was Stephen Paddock as he saw himself four years before he opened fire on a crowd of concertgoers, killing at least 58 people in the worst mass shooting in modern American history.

The details are contained in a 97-page court deposition obtained by CNN. Paddock was deposed Oct.*29, 2013, as part of a civil lawsuit against the Cosmopolitan Hotel, where he slipped and fell on a walkway in 2011...

I find that highly unlikely. Presumably if he contemplated suicide he would have figured out how to accomplished that without having to shoot himself twice.

All we actually know right now is there is seemingly audio of his last moments, and there are two gunshots about 10 seconds apart. What he did with those two gunshots is anyone's guess, but I'd bet it's likely he botched the first attempt (chest shot) and completed with the second. One (admittedly less-than-reputable) news outlet suggested that police are not sure he actually intended to kill himself, so there is also the possibility that the first gunshot was an accidental discharge that injured him and he decided to take his life after that.

Here is the video in question. There is no doubt these are two lower-powered gunshots about 10 seconds apart, starting around 3:20.

I'm not sure how that is going to help? The guns didn't kill people~~SP did. If someone is going to try to kill people, they are going to do it using any type of weapon they can. Timothy McVeigh didn't need a gun to kill in OKC. The 9/11 terrorist used box cutters and planes. Terrorists used vehicles to mow down people in England. The problem is not the guns, its the people. What about all those people using 3D printers to print guns? How does making them illegal solve the problem? Criminals will find a way, where there is a will. So the question really should be~~How do we identify these people BEFORE they go on a rampage?

Yes, he could have used spears to kill and injure hundreds of people. Or he could have driven a car to kill hundreds of people. Or a bow and arrow.

He had the ingredients for explosions but first he wanted that piwer in his hands. The power of life and death.

So curious that other First World Nations do not have this problem even though they have the same psychotropic drugs, videos, games, divorce, racism, diverse populations with many coming from the destitute colonies , music, and chemical dependency issues.

I'm wondering why they were trying to get tickets when the last song of the show and festival was playing.

The girls split up. The two went to try to get tickets for the show l The other two went off to do something else. They tried to get tickets for the three days and they were out of their price range

Then they saw something on Craig’s list but it was too weird. The person wanted money first.

So the last night two of the girls wanted to go but the other two decided they would do something else.

The two girls are traumatized. My friend’s daughter does not think she heard shots. But they were close enough so she could. She said there was so much screaming and people with children. She was paralyzed with fear.

Those two girls saw no carnage yet they are traumatized. I cannot even fathom what it is like for the ones who did see everything

Being mentally ill is never a pass/

It is an illiness

would anyone even think that someone without a leg got a pass by loading abus first?

its a medical problem. Like dialysis except in this instance the organ that is not functioning properly is the brain not the kidneys.

Being extreme here but lets say lou gehrig's disease or whatever , if left untreated, results in people going into shooting fits - I would bet as a society some effort would be made to try to understand it more thoroughly

IMO until society wise it is viewed as what it is -- an organ in distress- it will be basically tossed under the rug.....until the next one

and so it goes..................................

moo

I see your point

I have been an advocate nd many schools are doing it— not using punishment but probem solving techniques. Using methods to handle stress such as self calming and yoga.

States have instituted legislation to deal with childhood trauma with doctors, social workers, and others.

SP should have gotten counseling as to how to deal with the loss of a father. The whole family should have received counseling.

Apparently there are studies that show brains if criminals are different. But that could be the result if the emotional trauma,

We need to teach parenting skills and provide support for parents. It isn’ just mass shooters that cause society problems. Drunk drivers, drug users, child abusers, rapists, murderers.

Trauma, inappropriate parenting, suffering at school. So many things. We know what is good for people and shame and hitting kids are not ok.

I could go on and on. Do adults like getting shamed and hit? So why is it ok to do it to kids

This caused my antenna to perk up also. Unless one wanted to 'use' a doctor on a fairly regular basis, if you're a fairly
healthy person, WHY would you pay a retainer to have a doctor available at will?

I've been reading an online forum regarding 'Poker Ability Enhancing Drugs'.
Seems it's pretty common in the betting world for players to experiment w/ drugs/medications to improve their playing ability.
they even discuss some known enhancers...Cocaine, Acid/LSD, Coffee and VALIUM.
So what's the chances he had more or other prescribed drugs that only the doctor or MLD would know about, but
certain people (Dr.) have removed evidence of such?

another question- is it a FACT that he was shot in the mouth? couldn't tell in the head photo.

Words he was singing when he started murdering everyone

"When She Says Baby"

Some days it’s tough just gettin’ up
Throwin’ on these boots and makin’ that climb
Some days I’d rather be a no show
Lay low ‘fore I go out of my mind

But when she says baby
Oh don’t matter what comes
Ain’t goin’ nowhere
She runs her fingers through my hair
And saves me
Yeah that look in her eyes got me comin’ alive
And drivin’ me a good kind a crazy
When she says baby
Oh when she says baby

Some nights I come home fightin’ mad
Feel like runnin’ my fist through the wall
Is it even worth what I’m fightin’ for anymore
Feelin’ torn, oh the hell with it all

Everything gonna be alright
Just lay down by my side
Let me love you through this life

She’s a perfect shot of faith
When every bit of mine is gone
Somethin’ I can believe in
A best friend, a heaven sent
Love to lean on

Yeah that look in her eyes got me comin’ alive
And drivin’ me a good kind a crazy

True. I do say it ironically.

I mean, a PK in the sense of the English language, technically, sure. Otherwise, his life seems about has far from the life of the average PK as one could imagine.

My doctor left the insurance networks she was a part of due to the increased red tape and, what she felt, was governmental interference on her practicing medicine after passage of the Afordable Care Act. She now works "concierge" style. You pay a fee up front which covers basics (spelled out by contract) and anything over that is cash upon service. She will provide you what you need to file insurance but no longer does it for you nor accepts direct pay. I stayed with her because she is an excellent physician whom I was happy and comfortable with not because I need to be treated as a VIP. "Concierge" is slightly misleading in this case.... or my physicians case at least.... it is more like having an old school doctor you can get by phone after hours, etc.

I know quite a few older/close to retirement aged people that use these docs and a few people with babies, as well. They generally spend more time with their patients and don't have to worry about what's acceptable to the insurance companies. They are often great doctors. My uncle goes to one because he's had a brain aneurysm in the past and some other mystery health issues and the doctor runs a number of tests that are often more expensive but also more accurate and useful. One example of this is a test that measures the particle size of your bad cholesterol. It supposed to be a more accurate indicator of your risk of having a heart attack. So for people that can afford it, there are some major advantages. Can't speak to why SP was seeing one though.

Interesting about the Valium. Seems like it might help with your "poker face" but why such a high dosage??? That would put most people to sleep for hours on end!! I wonder if he took it in the morning to help him sleep after playing poker all night and potentially consuming a lot of caffeine or some other stimulant?

Does every stop and start of gunfire sound like a different gun or a reload to those in the know?

How much roughly is ammunition for these things?

Can ya toss em in a box a leave em or do they require maintenance if your not using them

Do you just stick on the machine maker and leave it on or only right before one starts playing WWII!!

Dont they typically come in their own little like suitcase _ did not see any in the pics?

We have only heard of few retail purchases - so he was probably doing the flea market like gun malls-- get your machine gun here! I think this is different than your experience. The name of the network of doctors is literally MDVIP and they do accept insurance. I used the word concierge because that's how they are described in MSM reports and on healthcare news sites.

How about just evil...why is he given the mental illness pass...

Agree. Consider how many truly documented mentally ill persons committed a crime of this magnitude. Not many at all. I hate seeing him lumped into a group of people who would never do this sort of thing just because they are mentally ill. Unless it is document to be so, the subject should be dropped.

Our family GP is the same, "Direct Primary Care" we're very rarely ill but for our family of 7 we pay less than half of our monthly phone bill (4 lines) and she does house calls. She is also more holistic and prefers to get to the root of a problem rather than throwing drugs at it and that contributed to her frustration with the insurance/health care system.

My husband is a gun enthusiast so I just know most of this secondhand, but the ammo would've been incredibly expensive - how expensive would depend somewhat on the brand quality. Some manufacturers make much cheaper ammo than others.

You actually have to remove the original stock of the gun and install the bump stock. My husband has one on one of his guns and he let me look at it. Then I told him to get it out of my house! [emoji19]

They don't come with cases. Most people don't purchase cases for every gun, just keep a few and put them in there for transport.

The article about his deposition brought on by the fall he had at a casino had an interesting tidbit. It did mention that Paddock never or wouldn't say how he got all his money in the first place.

CARIIS, Hendersen Nv. has been mentioned in several MSM articles. Not sure but could it be where his other home is
that some articles say Reno, but Hendersen is the real suburb.

New thing to consider:
SP says he maintained the gambler's schedule for 14 yrs. Play all night, sleep during day.
I wonder how this long term upside down wake/sleep schedule disrupted the body's natural Circadian rythmn?
It's a known disorder that can cause various symptoms from daytime sleepiness to depression.

I've read that people that do 'shift work' can have negative physical consequences from working and sleeping odd hours.
Interesting stuff for anyone that likes to read.

I was thinking about this as well. I know many people that work 3rd shift where I live and it is incredibly hard on them physically and emotionally. I'd think being in casinos during that time would make things even worse - so much stimulation but such little connection. Add alcohol and possibly legal or illegal drugs and you have a real mess on your hands. I'd think the lack of UV light would be an issue too. Lots of people struggle with seasonal affective disorder just from shortened days!
