“There is a lot of people that have hundreds and hundreds of guns, but for this individual to do it at a certain point in time and to do it all with such robust action, you would think that Ms. Danley would have some information associated with that,” he said. “But currently we haven’t been able to pull that out of her, if it’s in her.”
Lombardo added that Danley will be interviewed again this week and he suggested she could have prevented the massacre, which left 58 dead and hundreds injured.
“It could have been prevented on many levels,” Lombardo told KLAS’ George Knapp. “Marilou Danley, his brother, anybody that may have had some modicum of information that would have presented this individual’s state of mind, but apparently right now we don’t know that.”

No motive for the Oct. 1 shooting has been revealed yet, but Lombardo said that since September 2015, Paddock – a high-rolling gambler – had lost a significant amount of wealth.

Your previous post referenced a trade organization. Almost every trade has their own organizations where you pay to be a member. They don’t make the rules or laws, and most of them are pointless unless you’re really into networking. The organization you mentioned is for hotels. The majority of hotels don’t also have casinos bringing in the majority of their revenue. So most hotels have a lot more to close in their hallways than the hotels that have casinos.

Based on this link, if you include tribal casinos with hotels, there are approx 475 casinos with hotels in the US as of 2014. There are approx 53,000 hotels in the US. So I don’t think it’s all that strange for such a small percentage of hotels (meaning those with casinos) to have different priorities than the 53,000 hotels who rely far more on the revenue generated from reservations.

Another thing to keep in mind is how absolutely MASSIVE the Vegas resorts are. A typical Vegas resort has several *thousand* rooms. The typical Marriott or Hilton has maybe a couple hundred rooms. There's just no comparison.

He was involved with this case in Vegas. He was the lawyer representing the Route 91 festival.

This entire discussion arose from a food trolley being left outside Paddock's room for quite some time and not removed immediately.
It led to a discussion on hotel standards to include safety, housekeeping, costs etc..

-I’m shocked but not surprised. I wonder now if MGM is strategically letting LE run it’s course IMO in the way they ‘appeared’ to do with the Union and JC (individually). As in, let them flounder-not knowing which way to go? Lombardo seems like he. If there is an internal struggle I can see MGM using that as an excuse to defend their secrecy.

I'm sure the vast majority of the cctv footage was from in the casino itself, just logical because every inch of the casino floor is monitored.

That footage will *never* be released. Why? Because every casino has a hard and fast rule that *no pictures* are allowed to be taken in the casino. This rule is taken VERY seriously, and it's one of the things that employees are actively on the lookout for.

I'm sure the surveillance footage was given to LE with the stipulation it not be released publicly. They do not, under any circumstances, want pictures and video of the casino floor in the hands of the public.

On Wednesday, information emerged that adds to the complexity of the case. Mr. Paddock apparently removed the hard drive from at least one computer found in his room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, according to a law enforcement official.
 Well if NYT say it was a LE official its pretty sure it was one of his men.
Do you think otherwise?

Mr. Paddock’s activities at the hotel have been carefully tracked. He was a “lifetime winner” at MGM Resorts properties, which include Mandalay Bay. The term refers to gamblers who have won more money than they have lost over the years, raising doubts about whether Mr. Paddock had any grievance against the hotel. He also gambled during his stay the weekend of the shooting.
Gambling is regulated and records are maintained. did anybody see a recent report to this effect. In past week or 10 days? It discussed casino chiefs being able to reckon his winnings and losings and the article discussed how they were co-operating with LE and getting these records which allegedly showed sP to be breaking even or winning.Not losing. I
I cannot locate the report now though I searched for it?

That actually makes sense and would violate the privacy of their patrons..
But following a mass shooting event could this not be over ridden justifiably?
It could assist the investigation..?
What do you think?

Do you have a reputable link showing he represented the Rt. 91 festival? When I do a search, all I have pulled up so far are CT NJ links. Not saying it isn't true, but I would like to see that in a reputable source.

Plus, what would be the motivation in killing the lawyer who is representing, not the victims, but one of the entities likely to be sued?

When I order room service I usually don’t call them to come pick up the food cart. I know I should but if I’m ordering room service it’s late and I’ve prob had drinks, so I just go to bed. It’s not unusual to wake up and the food cart to still be in the hall IME. I don’t see what the big deal is.

Where does it say that he used the computer during the shooting? I only see that he removed the hard drive from a computer found in his room. It doesn’t say when he did it. Is there another article?

I believe there were several articles..
As far as I remember aBC news first ran story stating un named sources of unknown origin and we doubted it. But next day all major media ran the story..
Its here, on this thread.. just a few days ago

This is the article. It says he got rid of it before the shooting. It doesn’t say when, and I don’t see where it says it was in use during the massacre.

Just because it is not in keeping with your own personal experiences of other hotels elsewhere does not mean it is not a valid point and worthy of exploration.
I worked in a housekeeping dept of a grade A hotel when I was young..
This would have been very much a NO NO.
It would violate food hygiene rules.. general hygiene regulations, block or impede a passageway thus compromising fire regulations.

Its a big thing.
