Brothers Benjamin and Bryant Peterson left their mother in Las Vegas in the area of Fort Apache and Gilmore. They are believed to be in Utah seeking shelter somewhere in the Salt Lake valley, according to a press release from Cottonwood Height police released Monday.

Ben, 16, is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and a white-hooded sweatshirt.

Ben has pierced ears and lip.

He may be carrying a backpack with personal belongings.

Bryant, 12, is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 95 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a pink polo shirt.

Anyone with information on Benjamin or Bryant Peterson is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch line at 801-840-4000.

Anyone who sees either child is asked to call 911.

Cottonwood Heights police are looking for two missing boys out of the Las Vegas area. The children left their mother's house in Las Vegas and police believe they are now in Utah.

This is very scary to me. These boys are so young to be missing for weeks and living on their own (possibly on the streets). Prayers that they are found safe!! I will be keeping my eyes open for them. I will be in Salt Lake on Saturday.

Police say the children have posted on social media recently saying they are in the Salt Lake area. Police say they have confirmed at least one of the boys was in the Cottonwood Heights/Midvale area on March 10.
