Dickey previously admitted his feelings for Ujlaky, who rejected him, Fry claimed.

“I think he didn’t want to take no for an answer and he was going to get his way whether she liked it or not,” she added.

Ujlaky’s friends and family alleged she had been bullied by Dickey’s friends in the months leading up to her death.

The girl’s father claimed he suspects Dickey didn’t act alone.

“I’m having a hard time believing just one person did this,” Jim Ujlaky, 52, told Oxygen.com.

Why would he use a condom? Rapist arent known for using protection. They take what they want and dont always kill either. Do they have the right guy?

I think they had sex for sure but I'm not convinced he killed her or even raped her.

I think this part of that article is what convinced LE to arrest/charge him:
“Days earlier Dickey denied to police of ever having a sexual relationship with Britney but in a police interview on March 19 when confronted with evidence, he confessed to having sex with her on March 8 with a condom. Dickey was arrested and search warrants were served on residencies associated with him. Blood was found on a pair of boots and a sweatshirt.”

He lied to LE. Twice. His DNA is at the scene. He has blood on his boots & sweatshirt. What evidence makes you think he’s innocent?

Maybe Bryce Dickey has no knowledge of CSI or forensics. Lots of people know nothing about it. And that makes it easier for the police to catch them and the courts to convict them.

I also believe he thought he had a “right” to her. That he was entitled to her affections because he acted “friendly” to her & she owed it to him to reciprocate. He thought he’d be the last person anyone would ever suspect. As for the condom, who knows what that idiot was thinking. Perhaps he’s like Clinton & believed he could tell his GF he “did not have sex with that woman” if he used a condom during the rape. Clearly he has a warped mental process so who knows!

Thanks for the info here, @mlhenn -- I really didn't even want to read it, but I felt I owed it to her and the ones who loved her to witness by reading all the info about what happened to her, and then follow through to trial and punishment.

WTH is wrong with people who rape and then viciously overkill someone who trusted the alleged rapist/killer? Only humans do this kind of thing, and we are supposed to be the most intelligent and sensual beings on earth. The Heavens cry day and night. Day and night.

Rape and murder are just facts of life to wild animals. Chimps live in crazy troupes where treachery and infanticide are constants. Gorillas live with one mighty alpha beating any lone challenger into submission and males often to death. Without society, human nature falls somewhere between those two structures.

Then he calls his friends to hi house to grieve and mourn by shooting some rounds in her name and then posted it on Facebook. We humans are really odd.

Unless the blood on his shirt and boots isn't Britney's blood or can't be matched (I haven't seen a report so far that it has been) then I can't imagine he has a case at all.

Bryce Dickey, 18, appeared in Elko District Court for his arraignment on charges of open murder with the use of deadly weapon, or in the alternative, felony murder during sexual assault or attempted sexual assault with use of a deadly weapon in the death of 16-year-old Gabrielle “Britney” Ujlaky.

However, before a plea could be entered, Judge Nancy Porter said she noticed there was a discrepancy in the order binding over Dickey to District Court and the criminal complaint, resulting in the deadly weapon enhancement being left out of the bind-over documents.
She ordered the case be remanded to Elko Justice Court for consideration. Attorneys feel a hearing will be scheduled soon to “quickly” amend the order.

•Ujlaky was reported missing early March.
•She was found dead days later.
•Dickey was arrested after detectives confronted him about conflicting statements he made in interviews with both the Elko Police and Elko County Sheriff’s detectives.
•Dickey was bound over to district court on April 8 after a two-day preliminary hearing that saw testimony and evidence presented through 11 witnesses.
•On May 13, he was transported to the courthouse for the 15-minute hearing conducted via videoconference, wearing a bulletproof vest. He did not speak.
•District Attorney Tyler Ingram has reserved the right to ask for the death penalty if Dickey is convicted of open murder.

Spring Creek man has pleaded not guilty to murdering a 16-year-old girl three months ago.

Bryce Dickey, 18, entered his plea on June 5 to charges of open murder and sexual assault with a deadly weapon, both category “A” felonies, before Elko District Judge Nancy Porter.


During the arraignment, attorney Gary Woodbury told the court defense counsel would file a pre-trial writ to waive Dickey’s right to a speedy trial.

District Attorney Tyler Ingram reserved the option of seeking the death penalty if Dickey is convicted.

A trial date has not been set.
