Colleen Rimer was sentenced by Judge Douglas Herndon Thursday, more than four months after she and Stanley Rimer were convicted of involuntary manslaughter in their son Jason’s death

was sentenced today to serve five to 20 years in prison

Her sentences on the multiple counts will run concurrently, and with credit for the time she has already served she could be out of prison in a little more than three years.

A judge scolded a local father for leaving his disabled son in a hot vehicle before sentencing him to at least eight years in prison. Stanley Rimer was found guilty in the 2008 death of four-year-old Jason, who was left in the SUV for 17 hours.
