If everyone who commits horrible mass crimes on strangers is considered mentally ill ( which they probably are, imo ) then one might understand why cops might want to take them down quickly before things escalate and why regular people might become fearful of them.
On the one hand, people have been encouraged to become aware of, and more accepting of others who are different, but that may well change if every particularly brutal murder is blamed on mental illness.

speculation, imo.

For some reason I get more of a sense of of impulse as oppssed to premeidated

exhaustion and insomnia , with a dash of artifical stimulent is a very dangerous mix for our brains ...we also do not know ,nor have heard anything about "food"

Excuses, excuses. A mother of 3 is DEAD, 3 children without a mother and potential grandchildren without a grandmother. There were many others badly hurt and yet there are always those who offer excuses. There is something very wrong when people offer one excuse after another for the evil that inhabits our earth.

Some info on shelters

As it relates to the comment "I found at least 10 shelters."

-Please call before going to them. Many waiting lists are very long. (from one of the links below)

- 3600 sheltered

-3900 remain unable to find a bed

with the waiting list long for the 3600 that can find shelter on some nights , I would have to concude the no vacancy sign applies to double that.

-with Nevada experiencing the largest surge of 1,733 more individuals,

It hit me like there are 21,456 seats avaiabile for a concert, while 46,000 are waiting in line.

The notion that there are at least "10" shelters means nothing - My guys had to do it. They line up at like 4 in the afternnon. once capacity hit the rest are left there.

They are thrown out by 9 the next morning (translation they roam the streets ) and have to start cueing up at 4 the next day.

Many have restictions on how many nights one can stay. "Hey Johnny come on, you have been here for 9 nights you know the rules buddy"

Day centers are the opposite (mainly to provide some food) and they close at night - these places don't do the "overnight sheltering".

Both types of facilities are on those lists. Those "ten"are further reduced by gender, if one has a family. They are searched for weapons, drugs , alcohol ( a typical bag if you will, for living on a park bench somewhere.

If they have a horrible 4 days in a row out on the street, and have a "bad" visit they are refused access to that particular setting forever.

If they appear drunk or buzzed they can be denied a bed.

So, if we look at the whole scene, a person who had a bad day at the office, uses substances to soften their existance, need a bed longer than X amount of days, is the wrong gender, not a vetern, or has kids - those "10" options become the one 18 miles away that has 130 beds..................

The notion that a homeless person has purchased a computer, can read, knows how to use the internet to locate this info, and the capacity to "get" there is in reality-- not reality!

the notions the media throws out "there is help out there" are clueless, totally, about how what scarce resources ,that do exist , operate, require etc. IMo only.

I know, becasue I listened to their plights daily.

As a kid she probably had experinced how it really works. The difference being she now has a child, which dwindles options from the "ten" further.

"Excuses" are way different than "Causation"

Until causation is not called excuses - this stuff is just gonna keep escalating as we have been witnessing first hand , IMO

..as a society its our choice, and we are living with those choices today...

Weak evidence. One unnamed source who couldn’t explain why she was sleeping in her car on the Las Vegas Strip. Sorry but I need better evidence. Preferably one with a name, but at very least someone who can give an explanation that makes some sense.

Anyway even that unnamed source doesn’t substantiate the claim that she had a loving family ready to help her out.

Sorry. I agree it's weak and would be better with coming from a person who was willing to state his/her name. I only posted it because you asked to be linked to an article that said she had a "loving family" and this one does.

Until people stop validating the victim mentality, excuses under the guise of "causation" are going to keep certain areas crime-ridden slums and the people who live in them dependent on the government and the rest of us for their livelihood. Until someone teaches them self discipline and personal responsibility we will forever live with their "victimhood".

If it's about choices, why not teach the poor disenfranchised to get an education instead of skipping school or misbehaving so no one can learn? Why not teach the so-called "marginalized" that the best help they can get is at the end of their arms - their own two hands? You got 'em, use 'em, get an education, get a job. Quit whining and making excuse, and the same goes for those who work with them. Quit making excuses. I learned to sink or swim because someone told me I HAD to, so I did.

How much money has been thrown at the inner-city, poor put upon "marginalized", "disenfranchised" folks, to help them out? How much housing has been built for them that they torn to pieces? There needs to be an end to the excuses and someone needs to let 'em sink or swim on their own. I'm tired of paying their bills and hearing excuses for their bad behavior.

I just googled, there is no less than 10 shelters for women and children in LV.
I have stayed in 3 different hotels, at several different times. They had sofas and people were asleep on them. Once we get used to the time difference, we stay up later at night, and it has made me uneasy going to the room at night.
Everyone I know that has been to LV talks about how many people are out on the streets, sidewalks, the crosswalks over the blvd, pan-handling. Men, women, I'm pregnant help me, I not going to lie I want to get drunk, signs. Playing a guitar, looking pitiful, begging, looking like they are already passed out.
I have always seen church groups, pastors, missionaries, on the strip trying to help people.
I was not up in the older, seedier area, but right on the main strip. You just learn to ignore it.
Before I'd kill innocent people, put my daughter in the system and myself in prison, I'd ask for help.
I don't make excuses for people. I expect people to take responsibility for their choices.

All MOO

Thanks for this ^^

She certainly shows no sign of remorse.

Hi Labor, Shouldnt the tox reports be done by now -- how long does it take? It seems like after a car wreck they can find out all that stuff real quick?

Arrogant, strutting, cold piece of work, that one. Did we interrupt your beauty sleep by insisting you go to court, your highness?

Sure happy to hear they're all over adding more and more charges.

By the way, I'm not sure if I'm being implied into this "excuses" malarkey, but if I am, my posts need to be re-read. Just want to be clear.

I expect people to take responsibility for their choices. One of the hallmarks of mental illiness is inabilty to rationally think out before "behaving" .

Thats like asking a gold metal winner in a marathon, who had an illiness and one leg amputed, to run like he had before when he had two legs --doesn't work that way. imo -impossible

Nope, never gave your posts an odd thought.
