LAS VEGAS (Map, News) - Police are investigating the death of a person whose remains were found in the back of a car at a Las Vegas Walmart.

Shoemaker says the car was being used by a woman who was reported missing by her family on July 25.

The human remains found in the back of a car in a Walmart parking lot Wednesday belonged to that of a woman, Las Vegas police said Thursday.
Her identity has not been released. Her possessions were with her and there were no signs of foul play, police said.

Woman found in trunk identified by authorities

Investigators have determined that the woman found in the back of a car in a Wal-Mart parking lot this week was 59-year-old Gwendolyn Marie Sexton of Las Vegas. The Clark County coroner’s office has not determined how she died.
