This case has me wondering about all of the property that OJ sequestered in the 24 hours prior to siezure by the Sheriff, in support of the Civil Suit. All of this property, unless I am incorrect, should belong to the Goldmans. That, and the alleged offshore accounts, which should be of great interest to many, including the Feds. We haven't yet seen any charges relating to these matters. Any thoughts??

Buzz,
According to one of the legal eagles on Fox News the only two things that are untouchable by the Goldman's civil suit judgment are O.J.'s pension and his home in Florida. With this in mind, anything that been hidden in off-shore accounts is rightfully the Goldman's property.

Tom Riccio, a cohort of O.J.'s was interviewed Sunday night by Geraldo on Fox News. In that interview, Tom Riccio stated that he helped O.J. set up those off-shore accounts. I would think that Tom Riccio, having assisted O.J., can led authorities to those hidden accounts.

I think this robbery in Las Vegas may very well be O.J.'s undoing on several levels. First of all, on the criminal level, O.J. is looking at some time in Nevada State Prison. But, secondly, O.J.'s hidden assets may come to light, forcing him to meet his financial obligation in the judgment against him.

Hmmm. Maybe the IRS wants to look into possible tax evasion? Who knows what else.

Now,I am not a legal expert in any stretch of the imagination, but if all that is being said is true, the hidden off shore accounts, his stolen "stuff" that may rightly be the Goldmans',possible tax evasion,etc..than OJ will be one busy guy for a long time.If OJ goes to trial for this crime, they cannot bring up or enter anything from a previous trial, which would include possibly any property that may belong to the Goldman's,because of the civil trial ... that would have to be another trial. Am I correct? Any legal eagles here that would know that?

With the Goldmans' book coming out, it was probably driving him crazy that they were going to make the money off it instead of him. You don't think it a coincidence that this happened at the same time, do you? This guy is truly pathological.
You're right Lorraining, it pushed his button; who would have thought of using this technique to nail him for something.

Thanks Leila. I think you are right; OJ is going to have them coming at him from a lot of different angles; it all finally caught up with him. No more wiggle room O.J.--you're on the hook and you aren't getting off this time.

This is all kind of a hollow victory, at least that's how it makes me feel; it isn't going to make up for the last 12 years that O.J. should have spent in jail; I still have, and will always have, an underlying anger about that..

I felt sick that Oct. day 1994 when he walked out of that jail---

Has anyone ever heard from any of the Jurors from the first trial from the 90s?? I think it would be interesting to see if any of them would talk about their horrible verdict. I really feel bitter about the fact that they let him go free. There has to be at least one of them that feels bad. (Shouldn't there be at least one??)

I'm kind of nervous about this too. According to one witness (Riccio?) this all went down in a matter of 5 minutes. One of the witnesses has flip flopped already. Most of the items belonged to OJ in the first place. If he is found guilty, I can't see him doing much time.

I just don't know. It was good to see him in handcuffs though. Iirc, when he was initially arrested in the murder case, he got special treatment and the cuffs came off.

The newspaper reports I have read said these are very serious charges he is facing- armed robbery, burglary, etc... He is looking at potentially 30-100 years if convicted on all accounts and it doesn't matter that it was his "own stuff" he was stealing back. That's all a matter of contention anyway.

I think they're just beginning to uncover this stuff. Hopefully the Goldman's will be in the money. OJ's book is now the top seller on Amazon.com!

Oh, he may get a lot long than 12 years in jail now and that will more than make up for the fact that he's not in for murder now. I doubt his fellow inmates will care that got off on the murder rap.

I heard this good news last night but was too tired to log on and say "Thank You" to the judge who ordered him to stay in jail at least until later this week! Finally there might be some kind of justice for Ron & Nicole's families.   Oh, and NG just said he could be sentenced up to 93 yrs. in prison assuming he's convicted.

I thought that part of the stuff he sells as memorabilia actually was taken out of his LA house by friends when the civil judgment came down ~ in other words that it really should belong to the Goldman family.

Hiya Neighbor! The TH on TV last night were saying IF he gets convicted on all counts, he could be looking at more than 100 years!!
OJ may find out the hard way that he is not above the law.

I found this in the Las Vegas Sun:
Letter: Simpson's trials have mass appeal

Just think ... O. J. Simpson could be the first person to "star" in a "Trial of the Century" in two different centuries.

:D

I watched Geraldo yesterday also. I watched so many shows, I'm getting a little confused. Who was it that Geraldo was interviewing on the telephone, do you know? ? That wasn't Riccio was it? I thought Riccio was on satellite. Anyways, this guy on the phone was full of information. Didn't he say that OJ's sister helped hide things before the Sheriff got there?

I know these are serious charges but normally when you hear of armed robbery you think of someone holding up a store clerk or bank or something. With all this conflicting information, it just seems to me that this might be at the lower end of the scale. The witnesses don't seem to me to be exactly upstanding citizens either. Tough bunch, imo.
Don't get me wrong.....because I'd like to see him locked up for the rest of his life.

Not from what I've been reading from the Vegas prosecutor, plus the cops would just love to pay OJ back. I think they could treat them as hostile witnesses, but some of the witnesses may buckle under pressure anyhow and lose their loyalty to OJ when their backside is on the line...

I know what you're saying Jilly! And if it wasn't OJ involved in this crime, we probably wouldn't be paying any attention. I just wonder if public sentiment that he got away with double murder will carry over to the jury room when they're deciding guilty/not guilty to the current charges. I hope the State has a good case so there is no question!

I haven't read any coverage today yet. I'm just going by what I watched on Fox yesterday for 5 hours.
You make good points. I hope you're right.

Hi Panthera! I agree (if it wasn't OJ) but I am ecastatic that we are talking about him sitting in jail as I type this!! I hope the State has a good case too and according to Linask the prosecutor says so.

As far as the jury goes, it has been 13 yrs, so there will probably be jurors who were younger and didn't follow the murder trial like us. Geez - I still remember the verdict. I was on an operating table waiting for eye surgery and the who team left to go and watch the verdict in another room!lol
