The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate 34-year-old Ryan Carter Laxague.

Ryan is a white male adult, approximately 5 foot, 7 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds with brown hair, blue eyes, and a U.S. Marine Corps tattoo on his chest.

Ryan was last seen in the late evening of Monday, September 1, 2025. His personal vehicle, a white Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup truck, was found in the area of Jumbo Grade Hills, Washoe Valley on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

It is uncharacteristic for Ryan to be gone for this extended period of time and may be in personal crisis.

If you have information that may assist in determining Ryan’s whereabouts or come into contact with him, please contact the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Dispatch at 775-785-WCSO (9276) and reference case #WC25-4729.

Given the terrain of the area, leaders stressed that people should not test their limits and always travel with a buddy.

"It's a very rugged area," said Mike Rollins, Public Information Officer, 775 Offroad and Recovery. "A lot of vegetation, a lot of trees. The heat and weather obviously are another factor."

More at Search for missing man near Washoe Valley continues (Ryan's age is stated to be 35)

His wallet, keys, and phone were found near his truck in the area, and it is believed he may be injured.

His Facebook Log into Facebook (states that he's a former E-3 Lance Corporal at 6th Motor Transport Battalion).

Why did Ryan leave his wallet and phone? It's mentioned that he may be injured, how do they know this? I really hope that he's somewhere safe but he's been missing for a while now.

That was my thought too, how would he be able to survive nearly a month? Unless the last seen date of 9/1 isn’t really when he actually went missing.

Familiar pattern. Who or what is making these men disappear?

I'd say if it's other than accident, it could be PTSD. He's a veteran. His weight is also a bit of concern, not from a cardiac standpoint at his age, but at only 5"7 he's considered, in medical terms, obese. Could he have been on anti-depressants? (they can commonly result in weight gain)

PTSD for sure. End it all. Splitsville.
A small part of these men going missing feels predatory to me.

Maybe they left signs behind as to why they left. Stuff we're not privy to.
Looking back at the photo of Ryan on the boat it looks like blood on the seat.

I had just assumed that was a fishing trip. If it had been something else I don't think the family would have provided the photo to LE. What caught my attention was the second picture. Most people won't notice, but he's in a hospital or clinical setting, you can see the IV pole to his right.

Good catch. You're right didn't even notice it. Selfies?
