This case is sad because if you read the tattoo it really sounds like he kind of was struggle with something, makes me wonder what was going through his mind.

On June 3, 2023, a man was found deceased and decomposing in the Truckee River in Sparks, NV.

He was described as an adult male of an uncertain race. He had long black hair and a beard. His eye color is unknown due to postmortem changes.

The decedent was a very tall man, standing at 6’4” (193 cm). With decomposition taken into account he weighed 200 pounds (91 kg).

The decedent had a tattoo on his lower abdomen between his navel and his groin that read,
“There are times I have suffered shipwrecks in my journeys, in perils of robbers, in perils of fate brethren, in perils of my own design, yet from these perils come…”
He also had a scar on his upper lip.

He was wearing multicolored Nike sneakers in a size 14.

This is one of three very recent drownings in the Truckee river, however this is also the only deceased who has not yet been identified: All 3 Truckee River drownings under investigation

One of my old friends is a very tall, bearded gentleman who lives in Reno. I'm anxiously reaching out to him...

Edited to add: He's alive and well, thank goodness!!

This tattoo is a translation of 2 Corinthians 11:26.

Agreed! It's very unique.
Yup! Someone recognizes that tattoo I’m sure. I’m sure some kid misses their dad, a woman misses her husband, etc. Someone misses him!

In perils of false brethren.

"There are times
I've suffered shipwreck in my journeys;
In perils of robbers;
In perils of false brethren;
In perils of my own design.
Yet from these perils comes knowledge;
Only from within may we truly shine."
("Smile" ` Scarface feat. Tupac; 2Cor. 11:26)

I know that women disappear in this area, and one was missing in Jan, her name was Erica Kay Weigle I think. But it also appears that sex trafficking is way up in quantity in multiple states. So she may have been kidnapped and is being forceably trafficked in this way. I am aware of a stalker in the Carson City area, harassing lone women at night. He has a dark grey car and is about age 35 and is very active at this time.

The homeless are so well known to be sleeping in low level washout areas, it's sad. But flash flooding is fairly common in Northern NV.

It looks like the tattoo just ends there...Where's the rest of it?!

As someone with a "wordy" tattoo, people tend to be very curious about it -- to the point of grabbing hold of my arm and turning it to read the tattoo. It may not be the case for this guy, given the location of his tattoo. Because it's located on his abdomen, I'd think current/former partners would be more likely to recognize it than the general public. He'd definitely had it for a while.

Looks well healed. Based on the condition of his skin with decomp taken into consideration he doesn’t look that old. Maybe in his thirties or forties so he probably got that one a couple years back.
