On another note: I wanted to share something with you all. It makes my skin crawl, as I'm sure it will the rest of you also.

I have a friend, who works with a man who lives in Pahrump, and this man has told his co-workers that he collects bones, and creates sculptures with them. Most of the bones are from road-kill, and he boils & bleaches the bones. However he has told his co-workers that he found a human skull, and has it in his collection.

I know, I know....I asked my friend why noboday has urged him to contact LE & turn in the skull, as this could be someone's loved one who went missing years ago.

I'm told that the kids in the neighborhood even bring road-kill to him.

The skull of the unknown really bothers me though.

Totally creepy! And LE should be alerted!

Crushed enough to lobby for some legislation that made taking off like this a crime. I cannot decide how I feel about making it a crime-I think PD are overwhelmed as it is...with 800K missing on the books on any given month, they would have to hire armys of PO's to sort them out...

I can't think of any way to word such a law that wouldn't endanger the thousands of women who flee abusive husbands or children trying to get away from abusive parents.

If I were you, I'd call LE and give them the information you have posted here. It's the right thing to do.

Ew. LE really ought to be informed about the skull...

I have a friend also that works with animal bones like this - there is a name for it, but I can't remember at the moment and don't want to take the time to look it up. But he doesn't have any human bones.

If this man really has a human skull - LE needs to be notified. Please do the right thing and provide this information to LE.

Thanks!

Jeez. I wish something would break here.

Does anyone visit Steven's FB anymore? I stopped long ago because it really just made me sad. Lots of prayers, but little action. Clearly, that is not cuttin' it!

Any response at all from the cards left around town? I would feel better even if we just had a crackpot or two!

I talked with the guy at the motorcycle shop about two weeks ago; he says several guys picked up cards and took them on the road with them.

If anybody's seen or heard news, though, it didn't get back to him. But then it might not.

Nothing's come in to the email address (printed on the cards), either. I check every day.

I still wonder why there's no word on the Cedar City UID, but like I inferred in the story about the obit, there's not always a follow-up unless something illegal happened.

Steven's FB page was shut down two months ago; it's still there, but no new comments. Naegle got (rightfully) tired of the sex spam and stalkers.

The new page is forsteven.com.

Dang.

Remember how the media reported LE couldn't be sure what UT city the UID was from? I'm guessing he wouldn't have been local to CC. Could have been from anywhere in UT.

If this man really has a human skull. Who knows if this guy isn't just bs-ing about having a human skull.

However, you all are right....I need to contact LE. I don't know the guys name, but I'll figure out a way.

Would 9months be enough time for a body to be severly decomposed, if it had been in a sleeping bag (protecting it)? I cannot remember, did the media say if the body had been in a shallow grave, cave, etc?

Wonder if there were other personal items with this UID that would identify it as SK. Is the UID a male or female?

It's as if we are holding our breath until we learn of the CC UID's identification.

hee hee I was just going to mention the new page. I fully understand Naegle's need to shut down the Facebook page. If it wasn't generating any new tips than the spam & trolls would be a royal pain.

Have you all heard of some of the states have been using Cold Case Playing Cards to try to gain fresh tips on cold cases? The playing cards are available online for the public to see, but LE provides them to the prisons in the area hoping that any inmates may have any tips.

Maybe something like this could be done for the missing, and the cards be handed out to prisons. Who knows, I'm just thinking out loud.

I know I am.

It'd be plenty of time for the body to be severely decomposed; there was a short story on the Southern Utah University news site, describing these remains as skeletal.

The remains belong to a male, and a man's Utah identification was found with the remains....but due to decomposition, the remains were taken to the State Medical Office in SLC for confirmation of identity.

SK's dentals are on file, and his DNA is available but untested.

This one's a real breath-holder.

If you read the story closely, the Cedar City police merely said "I don't know" when asked about the remains. (You'd think he'd have certain information available.)

I hope this isn't Steven.
I'm wondering if he came back to the car after doing "whatever", found it gone, and tried to hitch hike home to northern Utah.

This article makes it sound as if whatever docs they found with the remains did not reveal the age or home city of the man:

http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/home/50330733-76/body-robinson-cedar-person.html.csp

Though they do say he was a "Utah man." What the heck type of documentation would that be?

Driver's license, credit cards - stuff a guy carries in his wallet?

From that article: "Robinson did not know the age or home city of the man identified in the documents."

To me, that sounds like "We're not going to say anything until we have a positive ID" or the more typical "I didn't personally see the documents."

This is how it sounded to me also. Because the body no longer looked like the picture(s) on the ID - they want to be sure before they publicly release who it is - and that does make sense. I mean the ID might not be his, kwim?

Has anyone emailed the reporter on the Cedar City body and asked for an update to the story?
