There is a temple in Sacramento.

Laytonian,

Can you please ask Naegle if he had a current recommend? Is it missing?

If he left it behind, but took the Passport...then that would be suspect for sure. As I stated earlier.

Temple Recommends have bar codes that are scanned on them now... as was stated earlier on which would identify him if he had gone to a LDS Temple :)

What doed BBM stand for? I googled it and I don't think it stands for:
Broke Back Mountain, Big Burly Man, Big Black Man or Big 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 Mcgee. (these were my fovorites) :newbie:
TIA

Thanks for the laugh, Renn.
BBM means "bolded by me", like when someone highlights a part of another post when quoting it.

It kind of sounds like Naegle thinks Steven just ran off, while judging from the recent video of his parents, it sounded like they thought he has met with foul play. Interesting.

Private in patient treatment for mental illness is not available for anyone without the means to pay. And the same holds true for rehab due to drug addiction/alcohol addiction. Steven would have needed top notch medical insurance, and even then, there would still be a gap, in that even the best insurance will not cover everything. Indigent,or low income patients might be admitted to a state mental hospital a charity hospital, but in a situation like that, the family would be located. But, in any case I am absolutely sure that LE has checked all local hospitals already. JMO

Is it out of the realm to send missing people posters to hospital's emergency rooms? Local clinics, or Doc in the Boxes? Or would LE have it totally covered? Guess they would have to give their names, but what if he had changed his identity? You know, did we ever think he may have dyed his hair? Grown a full beard....etc. Heck he may be walking around a flaming red head by now.

Naegle said something worth remembering, about him perhaps leaving on his own accord (with help or not): it's hard at first, then it gets easier to stay away from your family (paraphrasing).

The cops and shelters get to know the habitual homeless; they know who lives in your tunnels, under your overpasses, on your streets. Even if you're hiding from something, if you're on the street, you're eventually hauled in. Someone who has ID, will be known. Someone without ID, will be known by their street name. (This from an SLC news report I read a few years ago, when SLC and Denver were shipping the homeless back and forth via Greyhound.)

It seems he loved his guitar more than anything else. On the social network link I found, he mentions the guitar before his religion....(and the FB friend Matt quoted Steven as saying "the guitar would ruin my life".)

Maybe he's out strummin' his guitar on the streets of Vegas. Where do they do that? Fremont Street area?

Maybe before we send Fairy out to Fremont, we could ask Naegle just how good Steven was on the guitar; and yes, if it was acoustic or electric. I say acoustic. How many years and if he had ever performed on stage, etc. before?
Would let us know if he was a street corner guy or maybe looking for a gig. Could he sing at all?

In regards to the temple, I was talking about his actual temple attendance. The "temple lights" is something anyone can go to.

The temples always put lights up and have "entertainment" for members and non-members alike.

The temple talk just made me think that maybe he was either attending temples in other areas or that he was no longer worthy to attend. I thought maybe he was going to other temples all those times he was in other cities. Salt Lake, etc. Is there a temple in Sacramento? I need to go look.

The "temple lights" thing was a Family Home Evening activity that we already knew about. It's one of the first things we put on the timeline.

"Ward temple night" is something else, where the ward members actually go INTO the temple. (Google it, there's lots of discussion on various forums about quotas, assignments, scheduling, etc.)

IF the FB poster is correct, Steven attended "ward temple night" and it would have been IN the temple. Meaning he had a recommend (not important) but WOULD BE a confirmed sighting, as I've stated.

OR...maybe we just have a confused FB poster. That's what I'm trying to find out.

All those questions about "does Steven have a current temple recomend" aren't what you all really want to know. You really "need" to know IF Steven has USED his temple recommend (ie, has it been scanned entering a LDS temple.)

You've never heard a "bad" street corner musician? :waitasec:

I've added some questions.

Hospitals, etc, were scoured early on.

I don't know what kind of systems they have, but you'd think there'd be a way to "flag" a name....and if that person shows up, it alerts.

I'm the one that stated that about the bar codes.

And maybe they have not thought to check if he went to other temples, and if they have, it would be helpful to know. That's all.

I think it's a brilliant idea to suggest.

Like other things, we may never know the answer* - but suggesting it (if it's not already been done) would be helpful.

*I've read comments about "ward temple night" that say the ward Bishopric only gets a "count", not the actual names of the attendees whose temple recommends are scanned. So, if this information is available, it would have to be retrieved from sources that likely are not going to reveal the information to the general public.

I think his parents are trying to stay hopeful. The milk carton campaign would be part of that....because it's not aimed at a recovery search, but a live person walking around.

I can't remember which video it's in (it's one of the recent "milk carton" interviews)....but Steven's mother says something like "Call us, Steven....we'll help you."

Laytonian,

As I stated I am an ACTIVE member, born and raised in the church. I KNOW the difference. :-) I was just explaining that my questions about the temple were not associated with your posting...just made me think about him holding a current recommend.

And even if he did go to ward temple night. As a young single adult, BEFORE I was sealed in the temple, I went to ward temple night and stood outside with all the other youmg adults, mostly women who had also not yet been through the temple and men who were not worthy or did not serve missions, while the others went in.

The Facebook posting you are referring to...can you post what the person said, because I do not see it? I'm sure it's there.A lot of the temples close for a few weeks in December, so it's possible they meant Christmas lights.

I just looked up the schedule for the St George Temple for 2010. It is closed for maintenance in February and August, so it looks like it would have been open on the 9th.

But was it possible for Steven to have been there on the 9th?

Please, folks. Tell me where I'm WRONG on that timeline!

Yes, that's what I've been trying to verify. Am I missing something? I've re-read it about 22 times already ;)

Help me out here, folks.

Am I the only one who sees at least two discrepancies in that sighting?

Are you thinking she got the day wrong and the reason she was there? LOL
Is it possible for someone close to Steven , to call and ask. Considering he is missing I wouldn't think it would be intrusive.

I know you're an active member....;)

Does that make my previous research incorrect, that I posted here yesterday?

Well, at least one of those things. THANK YOU! ;)

ALTERNATE IDEA:

How about one of our "ACTIVE member, born and raised in the church" posters log onto the lds.org website, find the phone number for the bishop or clerk of the Bloomington Hills 7th Ward, call them, and ask when "ward temple night" was in December?

Isn't it a rather innocuous question? Is it really a secret?

Come on, folks. Help us find the information or tell us why it cannot be revealed. How hard would that be?

Hi Ruby Red....I have tried 4-5 times to find the comment on page 2 by Cindy and dated January 3. I just don't see it.

The posted URL is for Page 1. Did you click on Page 2? (RubyRed's correct -- the comment's still there.)
