ok, new report says he is 19. The daughter is 15, and the neighbro indicated he was 15 I think. But he is reported as being 19 per this article: http://www.mynews3.com/content/spec...ct-fatal-shooting/tejLDZ3qy0OB3AeVpIxIDg.cspx

Both neighbors had indicated underage, only about 5 ft tall, no DL, doesn't drive.

I suspect 15 is correct, or at least on the age of Exxx.

(Just seems very rare to have a 19 yr old w/ no DL, not driving, and 5-ish feet tall and only 100 lbs soaking wet - despite that article)

I'm sorry if this has been posted, but isn't this yet another version of the story??

http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/19/us/las-vegas-road-rage-killing/

"Are you all happy? You made my wife look like an animal ... and my son. There's the animal, a block away. Are you happy?" Robert Meyers screamed.
Earlier Meyers sent a CNN producer a text message, describing what he said happened on the night his wife was shot. She was driving home after giving her daughter a driving lesson.

Police have said Tammy Meyers' daughter reached over and honked at a driver as he sped by. The driver stopped his car in front of the Meyers' car and confronted them.

Robert Meyers also spoke with HLN's Nancy Grace and told her the man threatened to kill his wife and daughter. So Tammy Meyers raced home, dropped her daughter off and summoned her son, Robert Meyers told Grace.

The son, who was armed, got into the car with his mother and they left the house. Robert Meyers said his son and wife were trying to move the car away from the family home. They didn't want the car to be recognized in front of their home.

But the other car, described as a grey or silver sedan, saw them, according to Robert Meyers.

Robert Meyers texted: "My wife and son drove away from home, bad guys following. She lost them and upon coming home turned on street, bad guys are right in front.

"After that, bad guys open fire different location. My wife got home, told her son to take cover and after he saw his mom shot he opened fire three times maybe four.

"Yes, maybe in a make-up world she should have stayed home. Please remember statement from this animal, 'I'm going to kill you and your daughter.'

Bad guys? Animal?

Those are lines straight out of a bad buddy cop TV show. Who talks like that in real life about a situation involving a family member who is now dead?

At least one of the M's brood likely trended school at the same time as EN. They all reside within the same assigned school district.

My apologies - I was a couple of minutes behind after trying to transcribe details :blushing:

The Lead is now on CNN

They just played a clip of Mr. Meyers is in yelling into the camera, that the suspect was only a block away.

Now they're showing family member peeling away and reporters stating family members are upset with MSM and social media coverage criticism and "they don't know understand why people are being so mean."

Really?

For one thing, it looks like the "driving lesson" was a flat out lie.
People are pretty sympathetic as a general rule, as was evidenced by the now shut down 🤬🤬🤬 page.
But no one likes to be told a story that the participants themselves know was not accurate.
:moo:

This article:
http://www.4029tv.com/national/twists-turns-in-fatal-las-vegas-road-rage/31359192
says this:

According to the Las Vegas homicide detective, "at one point Mrs. Meyers was following what we consider a suspect vehicle. And then, at another point, they broke apart and Mrs. Meyers went home."

Steiber said that the second encounter happened at least 5 minutes after Meyers went home the first time and everything unfolded "within a couple blocks" of each other.

So.... based on this report, TM wasn't driving around randomly looking for the other car. It sounds like she went directly to his house, a couple of blocks away.

Wow, this story just gets weirder and weirder.

It has been reported by witnesses that the police said on the PA system that he is 20--->TWENTY years old. He is also obviously well over 5 feet tall as can easily be determined from his height in relation to the top of the police vehicle in the picture. He is also well over 100 pounds as can be estimated by his size in comparison to the officer and the cameraman seen in the photo. At this point NOTHING that this purported neighbor said can be anywhere near the truth. It is never wise to take a self proclaimed "neighbors" words in a case like this and then condemn the victim and their family based on erroneous information.

his poor mom with a one month old baby -- sleep deprived and having the meanies pounding on her door day and night....heck good lawyer and PPD defense if she was inclined....NOT suggesting that happened

now I can't find where I thought I saw his age (ETA sorry all). Anyone else?

Sorry, please consider it wild speculation for now. Perhaps he is older since they are releasing his name.

Upthread I wondered if he "might" be 15 since the neighbors said he didn't drive. Purely speculating on my part. In an interview following the arrest, a neighbor said he "thought" he might be around 19, but collaborated that he did not drive to his knowledge, and usually seen using a skateboard to get around the neighborhood.

Honestly...he looks quite young and little to me. I would never guess from the pictures on the news, that he would have been 20. Maybe I'm just bad at that sort of thing, but he looks years younger than 20 to me.

Just to add...pictures are so different than in person. He might look much older than what my eyes see in the pictures. And they neighbor said around 19. I think it was linked to above.

I am wondering if the "road rage" incident was really finding a 15 year old with a 19-20 year old punk incident. Or a 19-20 year old punk messing with her heart incident.

bbm: bingo hence the wicked witch routine....

''protective'' strong-fiercely protective of her children etc.(describing late mother - words of her husband)
'it could have been me' (said daughter)

If he doesn't drive how could he have been annoyed at her driving?

I literally cannot wait to see how this unfolds. As someone who trains with guns, it is never wise to leave your house with one if you even suspect danger is outside, you hunker down and call the cops. I'm not sure where the truth lies in all this in regards to the initial incident, but, I know for dang sure if I felt threatened and needed to have someone armed with me I would be inside calling the cops, not looking for them and not moving my car. Regardless, it's a tragedy, but this story seems it could shift at any moment to who the instigator was in the final moments. I just hope that LE can get to the bottom of everything so the true story comes out.

ETA: just bc someone doesnt have a license or hadnt been seen driving does not exclude them from being a driver that day.

JMO, but TM’s decisions the night she was shot do not sync with those I would expect from an adult with a clear mind. Her decision to drive home and get her son and his gun and go back looking for the mystery vehicle doesn't make any kind of sense. If the story is going to be they were going out to find the car and get a tag number it seems to me that if her daughter was close enough to see the eye color of this stalker it would have been just too easy to get the tag number and the make & model of the vehicle. In MOO, Mom and her Billy Bad A$$ son went looking for trouble and probably planned to scare and intimidate the other driver in the gray/silver car. The mother and son probably thought pointing the gun at this guy would do that but if the UID didn't pull a gun at the original incident I doubt he was the first to pull it when they met up the second time.

If there is another driver (and I’m on the fence about this) when he comes forward with an attorney I believe it will be very important to know whether or not all the participants in this mess were impaired. So while it may not be routine to check everyone involved here MOO is that someone dropped the ball.

As for the term "redneck" I'm most familiar with the term redneck referring to members of the labor union working on the railroad around Appalachia in the early 1900's I believe. Those workers who were on strike wore red bandannas around their neck to let everyone know. My personal opinion is not at all negative and/or racist. It's just plain old southerners who love God, family and country and prefers jeans to dresses and beer over wine.

OT: BBM That is interesting. I grew up in a west Texas ranching town and our high school definition of a redneck was a male who wore cowboy boots and a cowboy hat but did not actually live on a ranch or work with cattle. I guess today, a person like that would be called a Poser or a Wannabe.

This suspect doesn't work for me at all. If BobSr, Brandon, BobJr, or Matt really ever suspected him, I assure you, we would've heard it from BobSr's big mouth nearly a week ago.

JMO - This guy probably mouthed off online about a family member doing it, the mom "deserving" it, or maybe even claiming he did it on Xbox or chat-whatever.

Oh a new version. I know the first thing I would do if someone threaened to kill me and my child is go home, get my other child and FIND the person who threatened to kill me.

Oh, wait, no I didn't mean I was trying to find them. I meant I was moving the car. Because why on earth would I want to, oh I don't know, call the Police? After I get inside my house with my guns. Or on the cell phone before I even get home.

Like I said my hinky meter exploded a while back.
