I told my husband there was something wrong from the beginning of the story.
That most people here at WS was thinking the same thing.... and now I really really want to know what the neighbor 19 yr old has to say about all this.

From what? I don't think there was any collision. So that can't be the reason for their behavior.

I'm not saying it's an explanation for their behavior. But she was unlicensed and didn't have a permit and should not have been driving and they may be worried she will get in trouble so they are staying he mom was driving and she just reached over to honk the horn.

She shouldn't have been driving anywhere, including the parking lot, they had no problem admitting she was supposedly being thaught how to drive at.

it was revealed that Meyers' son told his mother she should come inside and call police, but she refused. She told him that if he didn't come along, she would go it alone. He said that when they tracked down the car, someone in the passenger seat began shooting at them. The mother and son then fled to their home, where Meyers was shot.

In all, 17 shell casings were recovered from the two shooting scenes, according to the report.
...According to the report, Nowsch told his friends that the green car began following the silver car that he was riding in, and then he saw a gun being pointed from the window of the green car. He then loaded his gun and started shooting at the green car. The green car fled, Nowsch said, and he and his friend followed it. Nowsch said that when the green car stopped at a house, he began firing at it and at someone who was running into the home.

Nowsch told his friends he fired 22 rounds, according to the report. He never told them that shots were fired at him.

Also, I know I'm just catxhing up, but a lot of people thought they must have known the person who killed her because they went looking for her and found him.

And turns out they did.

If they knew he was dangerous why did they do that?

From what? I don't think there was any collision. The damage to the car (missing strip) is on the right side of the car. The "road rage" situation they described was the car passing them on the left. So that can't be the reason for their behavior.

I agree.
I don't think this has anything to do with the way anyone was driving. I think this was a personal beef about an entirely different matter.

There was no "driving lesson" that night. I think there was a party for the birthday and everyone indulged in a few drinks. Daughter drove mom home because mom was intoxicated. The alcohol fired her up more so than normal and altered her judgement significantly. Son was already a hot-head at baseline, so it wouldn't take very much to get his hackles up. The catalyst to the shooting is personal and/or drug-related.

That's my baseline theory today.

Driving in a deserted parking lot is not the same as driving on the road. That is more acceptable to people. Parents take their kids for lessons in parking lots all the time.

Absolutely, there has been too much emphasis on mom driving and at the slow speed in which she was driving. jmo Just doesn't jive to me.

Could be anything. I still wonder if there was a girl in the other car. Also wonder if she was involved with one of the men. And the whole horn honking story is just weird. What, exactly would make her want to grab attention from that other car??? (If it even happened.) Maybe mom was never driving, maybe it was daughter all the way home.
But, I can't get my head around a mother dropping off her daughter, picking up her son and his gun, and heading out to do a little...I dunno? Hunting?
Do we know for sure the daughter was home while mom and brother were out driving around?

I thought I read somewhere she said she was in the car when her mom was shot? I have heard conflicting stories. Some say the daughter went with them on the hunt and some say it was just the mom and son.

The driving lesson is still odd for me, out around 11 pm on a school night. Then again what is odd to me very well could be normal for the Meyers.

I'm not saying it's the point of all the lies they have told. There's obviously more to it than that. But I do think they are covering for the daughter driving the car when she honked.
