Before I decide which Meyers story I believe or don't, I would like to see what the Meyers children told police from the start and if that had changed.
As far as I can tell, the discrepancies in the stories come from the father who was not there at all.

The children had the phony suspect picture drawn up, and refused to tell LE that they knew the shooter was their friend and neighbor.

We are lucky to have our ace photographer! Appreciate your input, it helped me understand the lay of the land much better.
This case is a puzzler for sure.

Ah geeez :blushing: THANK YOU! :blowkiss: I agree, this case is a puzzler. Even when I drive through their neighborhood, I'm trying to figure out what happened, try to get a feel for it. EN and the Meyers live really close to each other so I'm still puzzled by EN driving to their house and shooting. Something else is going on..

They may have all been stoned.

Actually the lawyer did not blame LE for allowing him to get high. In fact. he complemented them for doing what they had to and avoiding any violence. The only objection he had was in saying that they shouldn't have questioned him until he sobered up

I think EN mom was afraid he would hurt himself, maybe that is why LE allowed him to get high?

I'm sure his mom was worried. I feel sorry for her.

About why LE allowed it, I think it was just part of the negotiating process. Whatever they need to do (within some reason) to end the standoff peacefully. These things are a case by case basis, of course.

Maybe the phony suspect was the driver of the Audi ???? First of all if any of these statements are correct :gaah: then I can see where TM and KM wouldn't know who the passenger was since EN doesn't drive and he seems to have friends driving him places so they wouldn't know EN was in the car. This was also done at night and there are a lot of cars in Vegas (mine included... hehe) that have tinted windows and it's hard to see in the car. I'm curious about this driver and why he hasn't been in custody.

A few points.

A mirandized suspect who makes incriminating statements while intoxicated may have those statements thrown out but it is up to the judge and subject to appeal. I would assume a judge would make a distinction between being a little buzzed and being so out of it that the suspect really doesn't understand his rights or is aware of what is going on. Even if the judge doesn't throw it out, it would be grounds for appeal.

If someone shoots and kills your mother you don't get together with your sister and make up a convoluted store while the police are on their way unless you have some serious involvement to cover up.

I am inclined to doubt that TM was basically caught in the crossfire between BM and EN. If she heard gun shots in front of her house, ran out and got shot, I would expect BM to incorporate that fact into what ever story they told police. The complex story BM and his sister told was not particularly self serving for BM. If this was really a beef between BM and EN and TM was an innocent bystander, why didn't BM just say "I was driving and EN started shooting at me. I went home but they followed me. I had no choice but to fire back. My mom came out the door and they shot her"?

A good lie incorporates as much truth as possible, particularly details that might be subject to verification. If TM had driven off with BM shortly before the shooting, he would need that fact included in his story, otherwise someone may have seen TM in the car and the whole lie falls apart.

By the same reasoning, the daughter probably was with TM earlier, hence the driving lesson story. If she wasn't involved, there would be no point in putting herself in the story.

You can often gleam some truth from a blatant lie, but you can't be sure. Some people are lousy liars.

Just throwing this out there, take it or leave it, but if someone was shooting at my son I would probably be inclined to put my body between them. JMO, OMO, MOO.

Has EN mom said anything? I only saw her that day in front of her house. Maybe it was just me, but, maybe they could have taken this kid into custody without all the commotion that day on the block. I turned on the TV when CNN started covering it, and had no idea what was really going on. I had heard tidbits of this case, but came right away here to find out more. I'm sure some of the neighbors have a good idea what was all going on in their neighborhood, with both families, and maybe it would be best not to talk. I wouldn't start gabbing on the TV about my neighbors if something ever happened here, which I'm sure it won't. Wondering if Tammy had a best friend, someone she confided in?

JMO-This is basically speculation, but I recall hearing EN Mom has a good job with one of the high end hotels. I would think she will have friends there, support. Hopefully other places, too. She has a long road ahead.

The sketch can't be of the driver because they're still looking for the driver and LE said the sketch was no longer relevant after EM was arrested.

I'm curious about this driver and why he hasn't been in custody.
He has probably left the state or even the country. Bob states on FB that the driver MAY have ties to Arizona. I'd like to know where Bob got that information. Is he just assuming it because EM told his friends that he planned to leave for AZ himself?

What I'm curious about is why the police haven't released a sketch of the driver? If the previous sketch released is a sketch of the driver, why hasn't LE clarified that instead of saying the sketch was no longer relevant. You'd think they'd be more proactive in trying to catch this guy, but maybe not since having the shooter was the most important thing.

Can you see skid marks on the street in front of the house? If so, is it possible to take a picture of them? Or at least describe them perhaps?

Oh, Bob probably knows who the driver was, but doesn't want to tell LE, because it will hamper their investigation. (eyeroll)

That's hilarious! Your sarcasm might be accurate too! LOL

BBM. The fact that the police have been so very cryptic about things in this case sure hasn't helped clarify anything.

Was the sketch in fact supposed to be a sketch of EN? It didn't look much like him. If it was supposed to be a sketch of the driver, why would it now be irrelevant?

Are police still looking for the driver? Are they still looking for the car? Do they possibly have a plate number and know who the car is registered to? Do they have the identity of the driver and they're watching his apartment for a chance to grab him?

Why do the police still seem to be clinging to the "road rage" story? Both the EN legal team and the Meyers dad are now saying that it wasn't road rage, but last I saw, the police are still saying that it was.

I have to wonder if maybe there aren't some bigger fish yet to be caught -- maybe not even connected at all to the TM case -- and the police don't want to tip their hand.

Maybe the description of the suspect that the police sketch was based on was just totally made up -- a figment of the imagination by Brandon and/or the daughter.

Maybe when they arrested EN and the Meyers admitted that they had known all along who he was, Brandon and sis admitted to police that their description that created the police sketch was made up. So that sketch would now be "irrelevant," but for some reason the police don't want to say publicly that it was made up by BM & KM.

Good Morning America featured a video with Dad this AM in which he drove his vehicle with a journalist and retraced the crime scene.

Here is a link to the video:

Thank you for posting this *JMO*!

Las Vegas 'Road Rage' Family Explains Why Story Keeps Changing - Good Morning America - Yahoo Video

Interesting points - some made by RM (here are the corresponding screen grabs), which I'm bringing to the thread for posterity:

Notice the non-verbal statement (IMO) made by the physical difference in appearance between EN and CC (as pointed out by my fellow WSers on Thread #1). It is impossible to miss :cow:

At 1:01 of the video, with CG of where RM states the Audi overtook the Buick in the bike lane (and initial threat occurred)

GoogleMap of route RM states TM & KM took home from Shooting Site #1 to home (Shooting Site #2) 1:30

------

What I find interesting is that RM still feels the need to speak out to the media to justify anything on/for the record.

:dunno:

I'm not buying the teaching daughter to drive story at all. I believe it is 100% false, but that is just me. No one else has to think like I do.
