He also said he picked him up at the park. But, I thought EN was dropped off at Santa Fe Station after the shooting. I could be wrong. Maybe he was dropped off at the park after Santa Fe, but what horrible timing

Yes, lets go with timing. Bad timing. Very believable.

Instead of deleting evidence, Andrews should have gone to the police. JMO.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I wonder how that would have turned out for him though.

I wonder how much time Derrick spent reading on WS to get a story together.
Apparently not much time at all. My coherent story is better than what he told.

His actions point towards guilt and not innocence in my opinion. Destroying evidence after you know someone was killed is not how an innocent person acts. JMO.

I think it would depend on what the texts said as if they were just asking for a ride and not mentioning anything criminal, he could have deleted them out of disgust. I'd want to know what was said in them and when they were deleted, like if it was hours later or a week later and if the texts only contained non-criminal admitting begging for rides or admission of involvement in some type of crime.

Now I'm even more confused. It was said that his attorney stopped the interview but I thought he didn't yet have an attorney.???

I didn't hear that.

EXCLUSIVE: Andrews, "If I was the driver and I was down there...then why was I not arrested way before."

It may have taken awhile for LE to gather enough evidence like cell phone records before they made the arrest. Doesn't sound like any kind of "rush to judgement" type of thing. Destroying evidence may have slowed things down but LE has ways of figuring things out when given time.

Sorry Derrick, the time it took from the crime to your arrest doesn't make you innocent.

Is there a park near Santa Fe Station? Is there a street that begins with the letter J near it?

He said EN called for a ride around 11. He said no he was sleeping. There were texts before and after the call. Eventually, he picked EN up at the park later because he felt sorry for EN saying he was stranded and dropped him off somewhere. (He said a strange street name for where he picked him up. I can't remember. It began with a J. Johns? James? Could that mean he picked him up at a different park? I wish we could watch it again!)

We know EN got a ride to the casino afterward the shooting, IIRC, from someone other than the shooter. Then EN's witnesses sent someone to pick him up from the casino to get to their house. A casino is pretty easy to remember, and it's not a place I'd describe as "somewhere."

He has had plenty of time to get his ducks in a row. He wasn't arrested until after the warrant and the GJ transcript were released. So why doesn't what he says match? Does that mean he picked EN up later in the morning after EN left his witnesses' house? I wish he would have been more specific about the time and where.

"I'm a good person,” he says. “I have sympathy and I mean well. I just felt bad because he said he was stranded. He said he was down on Jones by the school so I said, ‘OK, I'll pick you up this time.’"

It might be easier when nothing is at stake. He has to try and match the evidence police has. Does police show he was in the area at the time? He seems to be putting himself into that area but claims it was after the murder.

He says he picked EN up down on Jones by the school.
Thank you for finding the J street I couldn't remember. It doesn't appear there is a Jones Street near the park/school in EN's neighborhood. Am I missing it on the map? Maybe there is a different park or school near a Jones Street.

The time of the calls has to work with the times of the shooting or LE would not have charged him with murder.

Maybe it's hard to come up with a coherent story if it's not the truth. Police probably tracked his cell phone to see where he was (that would be my guess). So I am also guessing he is trying to say he went to that area but after the murder.

That would depend on what programs Andrews has on his cell phone and/or the quality of cell tower concentration in the area. Cell tower pings are inconsistent in what they say as it depends upon how many cell towers are around there and their power as showing up on a ping could mean that you were in a wide area rather than a specific area. I'd think there should be CCTV footage around from both public and private sources, like it wouldn't surprise me if there is CCTV footage available from the casino that would show what cars drove in and what cars drove out where you could tell whether or not a damaged Audi drove into the casino and there may even be some footage of EN in or around standing at the casino.

I didn't hear that.

A post on here earlier said he wanted to speak in court but the judge wouldn't let him because he didn't have an attorney. Unless I misunderstood which is entirely possible.

It's Johnson high school. He could be confusing the name of the school with the street.

If the evidence that Andrews deleted is exculpatory he's really stupid.

JMO.

He doesn't yet have an attorney. I haven't heard anything about any attorney stopping the interview.

That's what I thought too. Maybe another prisoner's attorney happened to be nearby and took pity on him.
