GUILTY NY - 30 injured in Manhattan bombing, 17 Sept 2016 *Ahmad Khan Rahimi arrested*

  • #1,321
Egad! I assumed he drove (not that driving would be any better, of course).

Very scary.
He did drive because they talked about him being seen on surveillance by tunnel. He must of parked then took train to 23rd Street. But no one has shown his car being checked out have they?

I wonder where he parked?

Seems kinda weird that he would be on the subway if he didn't take NJ Transit into the city, doesn't it? That seems like an awkward route, imo.

I agree. But he would be more prone to being bag checked on NJ Transit. Or bomb sniffing dogs, maybe be parked then tried to find a spot for it. But since he was in Chelsea previously he already knew where to plant them.

"Sources tell Eyewitness News that Ahmad Khan Rahami rode a train into Manhattan and placed the pressure cookers in Chelsea while possibly carrying the pipe bombs in his backpack. He then took the train back to Elizabeth, where he allegedly dumped the backpack containing the pipe bombs in a trash can near the train station"

So I guess he never actually drove in!

That does make more sense....but VERY disturbing to think he was on a train that afternoon/evening carrying a bomb. Really scary.

On the night of the bombing, investigators said a car left Rahami’s home in Elizabeth, New Jersey, drove through the Lincoln Tunnel and arrived in Manhattan around 6:30 p.m. Surveillance video apparently shows Rahami walking down 23rd Street about 37 minutes before a blast ripped through the block. A short time later, he allegedly turned up on 27th Street where an unexploded pressure cooker bomb was found.

The federal complaint describes how he came to Manhattan about two hours before the first blast on West 23rd Street in Chelsea, but does not explain a three-hour gap from then to when he is believed to have left the city via the Lincoln Tunnel at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Investigators have been aided both by surveillance footage as well as tracking of his phone, which had no cellular service but used available Wi-Fi.

There are also new concerns that other family members may have had pro-jihadist views. Site Intelligence Group published Facebook posts allegedly shared by Rahami’s sister Aziza. Some quote radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.

In other posts, she appears to praise terrorists, and use imagery popular with the Muslim Brotherhood.

more info to add:

it was the cell phone of Rahami's younger sister that contained the video of him "lighting the fuse" of a partially buried cylindrical object, followed by "a loud noise and flames, followed by billowing smoke."

The complaint alleges that event took place two days before the bombings and describes how laughter is heard on the video before Rahami returns into the frame and is seen picking up the object. So far, investigators have no information to suggest the sister knew of Rahami's plans.

That's why I'm so confused why now they are saying he rode the train in.

I'm sure he didn't use her cell phone without her knowledge. Ugh this makes no sense.

I'm confused, too.
I was certain he was seen driving in. Then reports that he was on the subway. Now, both.
You think they're trying to confuse us, intentionally?? Cuz its working. LOL.

Haven't seen this posted (sorry if it has been):

If there was one child Mohammad Rahami had to worry about bringing shame upon the family, it was Ahmad. In the fifth grade, his teacher complained to Mr. Rahami that Ahmad acted like a king in class. In junior high, he broke a friend’s nose.

[...]

In April 2013, Ahmad left for a nearly yearlong stay in Pakistan. While there, he took trips to Turkey and Afghanistan, according to immigration and law enforcement officials in Pakistan and the United States.

[...]

Ahmad came home, angry and violent. A few months later, he stabbed his mother, a brother and a sister.

Has this been posted yet?

" Late the next night, the FBI pulled over the same SUV occupied by five Rahami relatives — including three women dressed in Islamic robes — who reportedly were headed to the airport. They were handcuffed, searched and taken to an FBI office in lower Manhattan for questioning. Weapons and bomb-making equipment reportedly were found in the vehicle."

BBM

Weren't these people questioned and released? I don't get that.

So those early reports WERE CORRECT.
Yet, they were released? Something is very hinky.

After a bitter dispute between father and son, Mohammad Rahami came back at the end of May to run the business until he could sell it. Ahmad left the restaurant and started working shifts at two other fried-chicken restaurants in the area.

But Ahmad stayed in his father’s apartment, keeping a lock on the door of his room, Mr. Rahami said. His son grew so suspicious of his father trying to get inside, even through the windows, that he changed the lock.

In June, Ahmad started ordering supplies from eBay, the slingshot steelies, the citric acid, the circuit board, according to the federal criminal complaint against him. He planned. At some point, he allegedly scrawled his thoughts in a notebook, along with thoughts of his muses, Awlaki, Bin Laden and a founder of the Islamic State. “Inshallah the sounds of the bombs will be heard in the streets,” the journal finished. “Gun shots to your police. Death To Your OPPRESSION.”

This is a very long article. It sounds like the journalist is trying to distance the rest of the family from Ahmad.

Elizabeth, near Newark, selling chicken here, selling chicken there, Asbury Park, Roanoke, VA, old ties with powder kings, rap parties in the back yard, and telling from the association mentioned, of the Muslim Brotherhood mindset, trips back and forth, making a living with Uber, doing well though bankrupt, there could be more involved or not, who knows? Either way, since the article appears as it does, now, I doubt we'll know soon.
