(@ 9am ET) - NY - Joey Comunale (26) (Nov. 13, 2016, Manhattan) – only for *James Rackover (26) arrested (11-16-16) & indicted on 2nd degree murder & for the alleged strangling, stabbing & dismemberment, concealment of corpse tampering with evidence & hindering prosecution; plead not guilty. $100K bond, $300K cash.
Skipping over 9/24/18 to 10/29/18.....
10/30/18 Update: Day 11: State Witness: Assistant Medical Examiner Alex Zhang. After the assistant medical examiner left the stand, prosecutors ended their case with a recorded call Rackover made from jail to an unspecified woman. Defense put on a single witness (??) and then rested their case. Summations are expected Thursday morning (11/1).
11/1/18 Update Day 12: Closing arguments. Jury instructions. Jury started deliberations. ??

Deliberations Continue In James Rackover Trial, Accused Of Killing Man After Night Of Partying In 2016

Friday morning, the jury requested autopsy photos and a read-back of a doctor’s testimony about the stab wounds amid their deliberations.

Prosecutors say medical evidence shows Comunale’s wounds were consistent with being beaten by two people, and consistent with being stabbed from both sides.

Comunale’s father, Patrick Comunale, also filed a lawsuit alleging Rackover’s surrogate father, Jeff Rackover, helped cover up the crime.

Earlier they asked for ME evidence. They also want definitions repeated for 'proof beyond a reasonable doubt,' 'circumstantial evidence,' 'acting in concert' and 'intent' -- legal concepts they need to consider. Judge will re-read his charge on second-degree murder.

Am watching 48 hours now. Missed the first part. Will watch it in it's entirety later. I have not followed along for a while so when I see new information I am not surprised.

They are playing some jail house telephone calls that Rackover made that were recorded. I love it when criminals are stupid. They are going to have fun with this wannabe "pretty boy" in jail.

I saw this last night on 48hrs.
I was blown away when they tossed his body out the window of the apartment on to the ground, partially surrounded by bushes, then put him in the car.

It seemed like a really risky thing to do , especially considering the area.

Don't get me wrong, I consider the whole crime despicable!!!

All the money and privilege afforded to these young men and they chose to kill another young man. It's senseless and horrific. I feel for the Joey Comunale family.
