Clayton Whittemore gets max sentence in dorm killing

..."Clayton's father groomed him to be a killer," she said. "Anyone in the community that knew what was happening in that house and didn't do anything should be in jail alongside Clayton."
Whittemore, who turned to face her as she spoke, wept quietly with his eyes downcast throughout her statement.
She spoke of her efforts to force Scott Whittemore to take responsibility for what he'd allegedly done to his children: by tying purple ribbons along the trees on the street where he lived in memory of Alexandra; by delivering every newspaper article about her daughter's killing to his doorstep; and by stopping by his house in hopes of getting him to come outside to talk to her; and telling him he should go to the police and turn himself in....
