Found Safe NY - Austin Taylor, 26, East Village, NYC, 2 Nov 2015

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a disappeared where there is never any answers but I'm getting that feeling :(

I wonder if Austin is suffering from depression and maybe has had a break with reality. To resign from your job and jump on a plan when he still owes money on loans is a big step!

Any Updates?

Why so quite :(

Has it ever been considered that maybe the American consulate in Paris called it wrong. I.e. a different Austin Taylor flew in to Paris.

There is a much more high profile person by the same name whom could very well have made a trip into France around that time. IMO

This is such a strange case. I hope he is OK, but it seems so odd to just disappear and not check in during or after the Paris attacks. Scanning a passport in Paris doesn't prove he went there does it? I'm sorry, but I don't have a good feeling about this. JMO

Really hope Austin's found soon. His poor family and friends.

This case is quiet. Like it was barely ever even mentioned, which seems strange to me. He's handsome, educated, traveled, and disappeared in PARIS during the PARIS ATTACKS. And there's like, no noise on this disappearance? Just really strange IMO. Feels like it has either majorly slipped through the cracks and no one is making enough noise to get it to the surface, or family/friends/LE know something we don't.

I just think they don't think it's out of character for him.

Unlike others I don't get a weird feeling about this case at all.

He quit his job, and made sure his debts were paid off (via email to his mom). He must have other bank accounts nobody knows of, had either money saved, or had a new job in Europe lined up. Clearly he wants to be away from his whole life in NY.

I don't think it's odd that he didn't call his family after the Paris attacks to say he's okay, because he might not know that they know his passport was scanned there.

I agree this is probably the case (the part you bolded)... but why even report him missing if family/friends don't think this is "out of character" for him.

They thought he went missing in NYC. Only when they found out his passport was scanned in Paris, did everything go hush hush.

That's a good point. Hope this young man is alright and just oblivious to the situation. Also hope he contacts his family and friends and some point.

Had a look on FB; his account seems to have disappeared. Someone asked a family member early Feb if they'd heard anything but got no response.
