Pittsburgh's Action News 4 talked with Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) Executive Director, Alison Hall, who weighed in on Epstein's death.

Hall said immediately upon hearing about Epstein's apparent suicide, she felt sadness for his alleged victims. She said she believes they came forward to tell their story, look Epstein in the eyes in court, and see him brought to justice. Hall also believes that some victims that didn't come forward may be feeling relief that he is now deceased.

Anybody ever seen a dead perp walk showing a body's face??? Looks like this was done on purpose. IMHO.
I was very surprised, and somewhat disturbed, by this as well. I seem to recall Saddam Hussein's body being photographed, but don't actually remember seeing it posted widely in news media, although I may have avoided seeing it.

I don’t necessarily think there’s a connection in regards to the current charges Epstein was facing. However, it sure does seem to be coming full circle. Looks as though the circle of people in high places and in power positions follows generations.

Yes. Especially in the Northeast, where I am from, I think. Everyone in the same social status and lines of work seems to know everyone else in the same social status and lines of work. They tend to attend the same schools, vacation in the same spots, belong to the same clubs, etc. There's the political/legal set and the art/theater set (there are others, I'm sure), and they tend to overlap because one spouse or family member will be in one set, and the other spouse or family member will be in the other. And it's over generations, just because that's the oldest part of the country. Just my two cents :)

Queen Elizabeth II showed her support for Prince Andrew on Sunday morning as he faced increased scrutiny over his ties with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Britain’s monarch smiled beside her 59-year-old son as they were driven to church in Scotland, with the prince grinning widely despite being newly accused of groping a woman’s breast at Epstein’s mansion.

And the DM had those photos of Fergie coming to town. She looked so strange, almost upset or something. Not happy.

Yes, there could be something generational about this. They Epstein and Barr's father were friends, he hired him. So many things have come out in recent years about institutional pederasty in the US, going back many years. Private schools have had their share of sex scandals revealed in recent years.

I'm predicting the video cameras malfunctioned.

As for jail cells, here's a diagram from recent news about Epstein showing how cells and furnishings are specially designed these days to prevent inmates using them to either commit suicide or injure other inmates or guards. There precautions are as much for the safety of visitors and guards as they are for inmates.

Tm-graphic-prison-cell.jpg

If the cameras malfunctioned only on his floor, or focused on his cell, then that's gonna be a big problem for the prison. Whitey Bulger was in a cell, all alone, and three (iirc) inmates were able to get to him, and there were cameras that caught them. If someone on the outside wanted him dead, and for it to appear like a suicide, then they could possibly recruit someone doing LWOP in there, to kill him, in exchange for something. Personally, it would be easier to beat him to death, with a sock with locks in it, than to make it look like a suicide. Ya never know though.

However, it is possible, to kill yourself, in prison/jail.

However, it's worth noting that some of these accusations against Prince Andrew surfaced back in 2015, and at the time the Palace vehemently denied any wrongdoing, stating,"any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue."

Furthermore, when asked if Andrew had any response to Epstein's death, Daily Mail reports that the Palace replied, "This relates to proceedings in the United States, to which The Duke of York is not a party."

Do you have a link for them being friends and Barr hiring Epstein? I just now posted a link from the NYT saying it wasn't clear whether Barr hired Epstein. And from the article, it wasn't even clear that they were at the school at the same time. Also, I've never heard they were friends.

Definitely. There are some token exceptions. But mostly it's a pretty small club that thrives on how they can benefit each other. Very mercenary, with a cordial exterior, imo

The "camera malfunction" is based on a viral tweet from a non-msm source that sounded to me like it was sarcastic -- as in "yeah, sure, 'suicide'" :::winkwink::: So while I don't think anyone would be surprised at this point to learn that "cameras malfunctioned," it's not been established yet one way or the other afaik.

Frank Figliuzzi, a former FBI Assistant Director for counterintelligence said that Barr’s Father, Donald Barr, once hired Epstein to teach at Dalton School, a private academy in New York City. Back in 1973, even though Epstein had not obtained a college degree, Donald brought Epstein, who was only 20 years old, and had dropped out of both Cooper Union and New York University’s Courant Institute, was brought board to teach calculus and physics.

The young teacher appeared to be successful at Dalton. A 2003 profile by The New Yorker wrote of his teaching years, “he was something of a Robin Williams-in-Dead Poets Society type of figure, wowing his high-school classes with passionate mathematical riffs. So impressed was one Wall Street father of a student that he said to Epstein point-blank: “What are you doing teaching math at Dalton? You should be working on Wall Street — why don’t you give my friend Ace Greenberg a call.

Epstein likes to tell people that he’s a loner, a man who’s never touched alcohol or drugs, and one whose nightlife is far from energetic. And yet if you talk to Donald Trump, a different Epstein emerges. “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,” Trump booms from a speakerphone. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

Reminds me of the saying, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”

Reading the newly released documents from Epstein's investigation was pretty shocking. You hear these kinds of rumors about international trafficking of young women and minors, but you assume its mostly rumor or exaggeration. You certainly don't expect it to be a large, well organized business that goes on abusing girls and women and serving the wealthy and powerful for decades.

Even for women of age who engage in this kind of sex work, you have to wonder how much of it is really voluntary and to what extent it damages them in years to come. There's a growing number of prominent, somewhat powerful women in the US who come from this kind of sketchy background. Is it really good to have men and women who spent years involved in sex trafficking (not just prostitution of consenting adults) in any way to be in positions of power and influence in the business and political world?

ETA: JMO, Epstein was only one of many savvy businessmen engaging in this activity. There are many, many more.

Sex trafficking is a crime and nobody involved past or present should be in a position of power.....EVER!

DB is not my favorite source, sorta like the DM, so I hesitate, but,

In conversations with other inmates, he at times asked for their inmate numbers, presumably to put money into their accounts.

Have a little cash sent to the right folks, and if he truly did not want to face his day in court, and the unsealing of those docs, his COD may possibly end up being suicide by drug overdose.

Jeffrey Epstein Is Dead After ‘Suicide Watch,’ but Trafficking Probe Lives as Feds Scramble for Answers

And this guy is just ONE who got caught;
To anyone listening, the jailhouse phone call between an incarcerated Latin Kings leader and his sister may have seemed like mundane talk about attorney troubles.

“I spoke with him today … and he doesn’t want to,” the woman told Felipe Zamora, a convicted gang kingpin who was at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown Chicago awaiting sentencing for racketeering conspiracy. “He has a lot of cases right now, that um, that it’s a little difficult with all that, so he won’t be able to do anything for you right now.”

But the person Zamora and his sister were talking about on that September call was no attorney. Instead, the coded conversation was about a jail guard suspected of helping Zamora smuggle drugs, cellphones and other contraband into the MCC, federal authorities alleged in recently unsealed court papers.

Thanks. That Fugliuzzi guy is the one who suggested that the WH ordered flags at half mast until August 8 in connection with the El Paso shooting because 8/8 is the neo-nazi symbol for heil hitler - so he's persona non grata to me, so between him and NYT, I'll make the Hobson's choice of the NYT lol

Regarding the friendship, I was referring to the friendship between Barr's dad and Epstein mentioned in the OP. I've read the Trump stuff before. Thank you for that, too, though. :)

In an indictment filed in the Southern District of New York in July, federal prosecutors laid out their intention to confiscate Epstein’s properties that were used to facilitate the sexual abuse of minor victims. However, his death poses a significant challenge in using asset forfeiture to provide restitution to the multimillionaire’s alleged victims.

“When someone passes away in the middle of a case — even if convicted — there is no final judgment until after the appeal process,” Piñera-Vazquez said.

Without a forfeiture of assets, Piñera-Vazquez said the only alternative would be to sue Epstien’s estate in civil court.

Epstein, who was immensely wealthy, has no wife or known children but he does have at least one brother. He has also been known to donate large sums to charity and scientific endeavors. His estate includes homes in Florida, New York, New Mexico, the Virgin Islands and France worth hundreds of millions combined.
