Epstein needed Dershowitz's legal argument to drop the age of consent for sex so that Epstein could access even younger vulnerable female children for sex.

THIS was paramout to Epstein. THIS is what he wanted. He didn't want more beautiful and charming women, more money, more cultured friends. He didn't even deny that he was having sex with young women, just that they were above the age of consent so it was "legal" and as such they were acting as "prostitutes".

He wanted sex with totally vulnerable virginal young girls. THIS is the CRIME. THIS is what he wanted to normalize. Very much like NAMBLA.

While what you said is certainly true, I think he was speaking generally there about the inconsistency between the consent laws on sex v. abortion. His statement is as much an argument for increasing the age of consent for abortion as it is for decreasing the age of consent for sex. IOW, an argument that they should be consistent.

A video of the encounter emerged as the Duke of York faced a growing list of questions over this association with the financier who died in prison in an apparent suicide earlier this month.

As long as big business isn't affected, nothing will change. As as long as businessmen (and I guess women too, as we've seen in this case) are okay with this behavior, any scandals will simply be a cost of doing business, with the knowledge the scandals will blow over.

I hope the days of that attitude are ending, but I'm not confident about it.

That tape really played down his contact with Epstein, implying it was only that stroll in the park that was photographed.

It didn't mention that he spent 4 nights in Epstein's home in Manhattan and that there were parties that went on. It also doesn't mention anything about the time Prince Andrew spent at Epstein's ranch in New Mexico nor on his island(s) in the Virgin Islands.

And, as she is undoubtedly a minor, her medical records will be scrupulously off limits.

I don't disagree with that at all - I think that is what happened, but I think more was going on between them than procuring teenagers for sex. There were entanglements beyond just the girls, imo. The network of powerful people was more than just about sex partners, imo. He wanted sex, but he also wanted her connections. She wanted money, but she also wanted entanglements with the powerful that he could help arrange. I don't know what was going on, but sex was only part of it, imo.
