Epstein’s Sex Ring Employed His Network of Shell Companies, Lawsuits Claim

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

The defendants include the executors, Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn, lawyers who were directors for a nonprofit Epstein had in the U.S. Virgin Islands called Gratitude America. Efforts to reach Indyke and Kahn were unsuccessful.

Among the companies named in all three suits are one that owned Epstein’s Manhattan mansion until 2011; his money-management firm, Financial Trust Co.; and HBRK Associates Inc., which allegedly helped arrange travel for Epstein’s accusers between New York and Florida. A Richard Kahn was listed as the registered agent for HBRK in New York state corporate filings in 2008.

He relied on associates and employees to orchestrate illicit encounters with girls and young women, the suits say, directing “a complex system of individuals” that worked “in concert and at his direction, for the purpose of harming teenage girls through sexual exploitation, abuse and trafficking.”

This team included “chefs, butlers, receptionists, schedulers, secretaries, flight attendants, pilots, housekeepers, maids, sex recruiters, drivers and other staff members,” according to the suits.

New filing in United States v. Epstein: Order
Order

Thank you-
"The Court will conduct a brief hearing on Tuesday, August 27. 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in connection with the nolle prosequi order proposed to the Court on August 19, 2019 by the United States Attorney.

The Court believes that where, as here, a defendant has died before any judgement has been entered against him, the public may still have an informational interest in the process by which the prosecutor seeks dismissal of an indictment.

At the the hearing, Counsel for the Government and for the deceased Defendant, Jeffrey Epstein, will be heard. Counsel for the victims and the victims will also be heard, if they wish to be.

The hearing will be held in Courtoom 17B"

I do wonder if the root of much of this is his deformed and/or unusual genitals. That may be one reason that he preferred young girls. He may have hoped that they had never seen a penis up close and personal before and therefore did not find his to be shocking. Older girls and young women would be more likely to realize how unusual his was. Men are very sensitive about the look of their genitals and from a young age this was probably a source of much shame and pain for him. I wonder if it warped his teen years and had effects for many years afterwards. He seemingly was confident and had the world by the balls so to speak but his manhood was always a sense of deep inadequateness IMO.

The federal judge overseeing the case against Jeffrey Epstein on Wednesday ordered a hearing to discuss prosecutors' effort to dismiss the indictment against the alleged sex trafficker in the wake of his death.

In a court filing, US District Court Judge Richard Berman said he believed the August 27 hearing would help shed light on the conclusion of the case against Epstein.

"The court believes that where, as here, a defendant has died before any judgment has been entered against him, the public may still have an informational interest in the process by which the prosecutor seeks dismissal of an indictment," the judge wrote.

The judge added that Epstein's alleged victims may speak at the hearing, along with their lawyers, prosecutors and Epstein's defense team.

Yes and humiliated him. I just personally enjoyed Kuvin pressing on
and repeating it yet again.

What in the world would cause his genitalia to be egg-shaped? Deformity or botched surgery? That's pretty distinctive.

Did you listen to the rest of the description? Egg-shaped is not accurate based on that. Sounds like just a poor word choice by the person who provided the statement.

A senior employee of Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab says he plans to resign over revelations the lab took money from Jeffrey Epstein.

Ethan Zuckerman, director of the lab’s Center for Civic Media, says director Joi Ito failed to disclose the deceased financier’s funding of the research center as well as money Ito accepted for personal investments in tech.

Epstein was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges when he killed himself in his jail cell earlier this month. He had previously served time on solicitation charges. He gave MIT at least $200,0000.

The controversy surrounding his donations to the lab date to 2015.

The Boston Globe reports Ito publicly apologized last week for the lab’s ties to Epstein.

He adds that he would raise the equivalent and donate it nonprofits that work with survivors of trafficking.

Daily Mail story[/a] questioning why she is being honored by the British Fashion Council for her philanthropic work when she has had ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and disgraced former Liberian president Charles Taylor, among others. The take-down piece showed photos of her rubbing elbows with the “hair-raising cast of characters” who have “dubious and in some cases bloodthirsty reputations.”

In a video shared on her social media platforms, Campbell called the story “unfair,” a “distorted piece of journalism” and a “direct character assassination.” She said, “I’ve always said I’m not a saint. I’m a work in progress. But I will not be held hostage by my past.”

Naomi Campbell seems to me to be always attached to men of great power and wealth. And it doesn’t matter to her by which means either power or wealth was obtained. That and her stories of abuse of her staff make her a repulsive person to me

Another of his victims described it as “teardrop-shaped”

And I can’t picture either of those options

Jeffrey Epstein was moving forward with plans to triple the size of his residence on his private Caribbean island at the same time his lawyers were secretly hashing out a lenient deal with federal prosecutors in Florida, according to documents viewed by NBC News.

Permit records in the Virgin Islands reveal that Epstein was seeking a massive renovation to his estate on the island he owns, Little St. James — complete with a new pool, spa and underground theater — in the fall of 2007.

At least eight jail officials knew Jeffrey Epstein was not to be left alone in cell

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...e9-9986-1fb3e4397be4_story.html?noredirect=on

Speaking Wednesday at an unrelated event in Dallas, Barr said that the investigation is “well along,” adding, “I think I’ll soon be in a position to report to Congress and the public the results.”

Epstein was placed on suicide watch, but officials lifted those measures six days later, on July 29. On that day, MCC officials returned Epstein to a special housing unit known as Nine South — where officers were directed to check on him in his cell every 30 minutes. The other explicit condition of his removal from suicide watch was that Epstein would not be left alone in a cell, these people said.

Upon his return to the special housing unit, Epstein was placed in a cell with a suspect other than Tartaglione, according to people familiar with the case. Authorities have not identified that individual, who was moved out of the cell Aug 9. By the next morning, Epstein was dead.

In that incident, guards rushed to Epstein’s cell when his cellmate at the time, Nicholas Tartaglione, began yelling, according to these people . Tartaglione told officers he had noticed Epstein had a bedsheet around his neck and appeared to be trying to kill himself, the people said.
Epstein denied that, they said, and told prison staff that he had been attacked — something Tartaglione denied.

Some MCC staff doubted Epstein’s claim that he was attacked, suspecting instead that he either faked a suicide attempt or intended to take his own life, the people familiar said....

_______
JMO but I would guess no prisoner wanted to be in a cell with JE
especially after he accused his cell mate,Tartaglione, of attacking him.
What happened & why was the second cell mate moved out Aug 9th?

By putting his fortune in a trust, Epstein effectively hid the identities of his beneficiaries — and the women trying to collect from his estate must first persuade a judge to pull back the curtain and release the information, lawyers said.

“This is the last act of Epstein’s manipulation of the system, even in death,” said attorney Jennifer Freeman, who represents child sex abuse victims.

The women must convince the judge that they are entitled to compensation as victims of sex crimes. Then the judge would need to determine the amount to give them and whether to reduce the amounts doled to Epstein’s named beneficiaries, who would also be given their say in court.

The timing of the first attack/suicide attempt is odd in that before his actual death, he made a will. So, did he make the will because he knew he was going to kill himself or did he make the will because he thought he might be murdered. Or, did he make the will simply as a housekeeping measure, keeping all his affairs in order (though seems like he had plenty of other legal affairs to be working on at the time).

So true. And I think there is a warren of underground tunnels beneath the basement and subbasement. We haven't gotten to them yet.
