NY - Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein arrested, sex trafficking, 6 July 2019 *FOUND DECEASED IN JAIL* #4

Though the name of Epstein’s texting partner is redacted in the documents, time-stamps on the text messages matched up with video from the hearing, as well as the messages’ contents, appear to indicate that Epstein was texting with Del. Stacey Plaskett, a Democrat who represents the U.S. Virgin Islands as its nonvoting delegate in the House of Representatives.

Reached by phone Thursday, Plaskett declined to answer questions about the text messages and directed all inquiries to her congressional staff. Plaskett’s chief of staff, Angeline Jabbar, said Thursday she was “not in a position to confirm or not” whether the congresswoman was texting with Epstein at the hearing.

From the link, "The messages show Epstein was invested in what Cohen was sharing about Trump, the financier’s former friend, during his [House Oversight Committee] testimony."

Of note, months later...

...indicates that from prison Cohen is instructing his lawyers to offer presumably incriminating evidence against Trump and (just-indicted) Epstein. Cohen "has heard Trump say things about Epstein".

It's significant because up until this email was released by DOJ, on the one hand Cohen's hearing/publicity/book/etc portray Trump adversarially and yet he had tried to imply all along that Trump wasn't really a pedophile despite all other evidence emerging and/or being COVERED UP.

I am guessing that this is the DOJ response to the recent request for a special master to force the release of the files.

"Justice Department officials said in a letter submitted to two federal judges Thursday that they are making "substantial progress" reviewing items related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein -- but gave no indication when additional material would be released.

The letter said "over five hundred" federal prosecutors and staff members from the Southern District of New York and the Justice Department's criminal division are reviewing and redacting millions of pages from the investigations into Epstein and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.

The review has found "substantial" duplication in various files, so the estimated number of documents is "in flux," the letter said."

I'm going to have to read this a few times because it's complicated, but tied with Epstein finances.

Dick Sr.’s trust company, La Hougue, is now a key target of the US Senate Finance Committee’s investigation into how the late convicted pedophile and former Maxwell boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein financed his international child sex trafficking ring,

Cohen is currently undermining his own credibility, fwiw, setting himself up as a person nobody should believe about anything he says.

"Judge Paul A. Engelmayer was told in a letter signed by U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton that he must reject a request this week by the congressional cosponsors of the Epstein Files Transparency Act to appoint a neutral expert."

One month after the congressionally mandated deadline to release all its files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the Justice Department has made only a fraction of the files public — and it remains silent on its plans to fully comply with the law.

Also keeping quiet about the DOJ delays are congressional Republicans, almost all of whom voted in November to release the records after spending months heeding President Donald Trump’s opposition to the move.

A federal judge DENIES a request by Reps. Khanna and Massie to appoint a special master to release the Epstein files.Their request is "important" and "timely," but the appropriate vehicle may be a lawsuit or Congress, the judge says.
