Boston, NY, 1979- would there have been anything going on to draw Cali? Maybe she didn't specify which Boston she wanted to go to, and it was only assumed Boston, MA.

I would also like to know the order of the shots. I read that she was shot in the head first, then dragged, then shot in the back.

Last question- the teeth isotopes- is it possible that those isotope could appear in another country? Did they test for flouride? Did Australia have fluoride in its water supply at the time?

I do not think anybody knows why Cali was heading to Boston, if she was. One trucker driver stated she was trying to get a ride to Boston MA (Wikipedia) but maybe he misunderstood, or she said Boston and he assumed MA?

Wikipedia is the only place I have found that says the head shot was first. Everything else says the back shot was. The articles say they turned her over and found a spent .38 slug buried in the ground under her.....so I am guessing they based that by which area of her body they found the slug under?

I can be no help on the teeth isotopes. I'd like to know that answer as well. Anybody?

Not sure if I am reading this correctly......but I do have a question. I read on one of the posts Cali could have came from any of the yellow areas? There is ALOT of yellow on that map. Did I misunderstand?

I think they are saying she probably came from the areas marked yellow/blue. Cross reference that to the pollen analysis, and it places you in the San Diego, or Arizona areas.

I would say back shot first- getting/running out of car. It would drop her, then the shot to her face.

The Casuarina pollen can't be found in Michigan. They are cross referencing the pollen data with the isotope data, and the only places that fit both analyses are in the area of the Southwest U.S. and Northwestern Mexico.

I was looking at the map. As the Polen was in her clothing is am more curious as to how to interpret the finding on the teeth. Best I could figure from the artical on the Stonehenge boy it indicates temperature and certain water chemistry. On Cali, where does this leave us.

I found this article. Apparently Cali was/is also known as Dorothy doe. This article states:
I was found face down and dirty in a field of corn, just off Route 20 in Caledonia, New York. All alone. No friends with me, no cute little dog, and no wizard to tell me it had all been a bad dream.
If she was found face down, then the crime scene photo was taken after they turned her over. Given the caliber of the slug, I think that means the head shot came first.
It also states:
The blogger writing this looked up the temperatures there in November 1979. The average temp in the days before I was found was only 39 degrees! Kind of cold to be in a windbreaker? This makes me think she had not been in NY very long.
This article is written as if it is Cali telling the story......even more heart breaking.

I wonder if we can get a copy of the racing schedule/season from back then? Or a copy of the newspapers around those days, to see what races were advertised? I wonder if there is any kind of racing association that would have the places, dates and drivers for that circuit that fall. I am sure there are records somehwere of who raced, and who won.

Second, I found a description of a person she was with at the diner. Here is a sketch:

He was described as a white male, 5'8" - 5'9". Was wearing a flannel shirt. Had wire rim glasses. He also drove a station wagon with wooden sidings.

I wonder if any follow up was done on the vehicle description? DID they check to see if anybody in that area owned thid auti>

J.M. York. The students Involved In the project are from Wyoming and Livingston counties.
