I'm still here, just giving the Gillis family some time.
Here is another article from Denton Publications (thank you!)
http://www.denpubs.com/news/2014/mar/12/police-still-seek-clues-two-year-search/
From the article, which answers the question regarding ongoing searches:
" The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations Unit located in Ray Brook continues to run down leads in this investigation,” said Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer V. Fleishman in a press release on the two-year anniversary of Gillis going missing.
“Although limited searches of the woods and water near where Colin was last seen will continue, a large portion of the area has been eliminated,” the release said."
I am very happy that they are still working on things and not giving up. I know we're not giving up!
I agree that the heat is on and someone is going to crack, how you would keep something secret like that is just unbelievable to me! I watched an episode of Dateline about the two "friends" that killed Skylar Neese, they didn't like her and didn't want to be friends with her anymore. That's just surreal to me, evil lurks

. Luckily one of them cracked and it led to them being arrested and Skylar being located.
If you would like to see the episode, it's titled "Something Wicked", that's an understatement:
