Does anyone know the relationship between Colin's ride to the party and Colin? Hometown friend, college buddy, relative, high school acquaintance?

I know it was a friend but I don't know the specifics, hometown friend, college friend, etc. I will ask. Thanks ontheclock!

Happy to 'help' ... we'll try to revise the maps to include those areas once we figure them out! Wish we had a good Delorme NY Atlas (we have ME, VT, NH, MA, PA but no NY - go figure). Jake will be able to reference his Adirondack hiking maps.

I just learned how to use Google Earth street view tonight - it's a pretty handy feature! It's not available for every road but gives you a great sense of the area!

Wowza! Thank you both again, the street view is VERY helpful as it really gives a sense of reality. It was a Full Moon that evening/morning with the Spring forward time change (which initially complicated things a little bit).

Don't know how you, ForesterJake, and everyone else came together on this thread but I'm pretty sure it was destiny!

Another good question! I will ask! With Colin's birthday approaching as well as the two year date, I'm backing off a bit, I don't want to add any additional stress to the family. I'm so sad for them

I totally understand (and I do get greedy with my questions) :innocent:

I won't give up, and I still have a lot of back-reading to do. I really think this case can be solved.

My heart goes out to Colin's family. I can't even imagine how tough it must be for them to carry on with their lives with all this uncertainty, and most importantly, without their son.

I'm confident WCAX will do a story - they've had excellent coverage initially and at the 6 month, 1 year & 18 month marks.

Those are our big Vermont media news sources. My feeling is that the coverage really needs to be in NY but we are 'neighbors'.

Hi Sunset Girl! I have contacted David Charns at WPTZ but have received no reply, I also sent an email to Ms. VanArsdel at WPTZ but it was returned so maybe she switched stations?

I haven't contacted FOX44 or WCAX, would you mind touching base with them?

I have also contacted the following:

Jessica Collier from the Adirondack Daily Enterprise - no reply as of yet

David Lohr from Huffington Post, while Huff Post is not a fave on WS, he did an article about Colin being missing (among others) - no reply as of yet

Brian Mann from NCPR (North Country Public Radio) - no reply as of yet

Bill Eckert from Watertown Daily Times, he replied and was very nice and would like to meet with the Gillis family, I passed his email on to them

Kim Dedam Smith from the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, again a very nice reply and she has met with the Gillis family before, I passed on her email to the family as well.

I have no idea why the others have not replied, the emails were not returned so I'm making the assumption they were received but I could be wrong (it wouldn't be the first time!), maybe they will reply this week.

VT and NY are definitely neighbors, the more Colin's disappearance is in the public eye, the better, imho.

I do want to pass on appreciation from the Gilis family to all of you. I thank you as well!! I have also shared with them about how helpful and caring all of you have been and how committed you are to helping them bring Colin home.

Aack, I forgot to ask about how many people were in the car with Colin when they were headed to the party, will do that!

Does anyone have any theories they would like to share? Maybe by seeing things in writing, something may "pop out" to someone?

Hi Kadence - I spoke with a gentleman (didn't get his name) at WCAX (802) 652-6364 ... he says they have it on the calendar and asked if there was any new info - I said I didn't think so but explained our interest and concern for the family/our hopes that some media coverage might generate new tips - hopefully he'll check out our thread here! If the family is planning anything in the way of new searches, that would be something that I'm sure they would want to include. I'm not sure if the Gillis family has it in them emotionally to contact any of the media but I get the impression that would improve the chances of an in depth story.

I also spoke with Joe at Fox44 (802) 859-1344 ... he said it's on their radar but was non-committal, again asking if there was anything new or being planned.

If anyone else on Team Colin wants to call and ask the same question (will there be any coverage of the 2-year mark for Colin's disappearance?) that might keep it fresh in their minds!

I feel like the family has answered some of our questions - providing more specific info than any news story but will the reporters need to get their info from a verifiable source (the family directly or LE?) ... I doubt they can quote us.

With Colin's birthday approaching, things are focused there, as they should be.

It's nice to see an article about Colin already, thank you so much for sharing it. I do believe that the more his name is out there, the closer we can get to bringing him home to his family. Newzjunky.com and Timothy W. Scee II are now on my radar, thanks!!

Over 40 people, including several youths, attended the Paskungameh Road party. The party, according to police, abruptly ended in the early morning hours of March 11.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about someone who saw Gillis or interacted with him on Route 3 to contact the State Police BCI Unit at 518-897-2000. Police are also reminding citizens not to assume that information has already been reported to the authorities.

I'm glad Colin's disappearance is receiving media coverage at the 2-year mark ... everything is coming into clearer focus as the police reveal the focus of their investigation.

The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations Unit located in Ray Brook continues to investigate leads in this investigation. Although limited searches of the woods and water near where Colin was last seen will continue, a large portion of the area has been eliminated. Along with those searches, the investigation has also focused on the people who would have interacted with Colin during the early morning hours on March 11, 2012 and have not reported that contact with the State Police.

The New York State Police would like information about or hope to speak to that person or persons.

Anyone who may have information about someone who witnessed Colin Gillis or interacted with him on State Route 3 to contact the State Police BCI Unit in Ray Brook at 518-897-2000.

State Police want to remind citizens not to assume that the information has already been provided to Investigators if they have not personally reported it. All information will be kept confidential.

Let's hope this news coverage will put some pressure on this individual (or individuals) who have failed to come forward - it seems very likely that the police know exactly who he/she/they are and are keeping a close eye on them!
