If the woman laid a hand on them and still says it's all the man's fault........... NO!
It won't work lady.

Her college research topic is going to make it difficult to explain she wasn't part of this.

The fact that she turned on him immediately, it seems, tells me their relationship wasn't based on much. Doesn't sound like a deep commitment, imo.

On her FB page, she posted the photo of the two of them, which seems strange if she were coerced by him. Perhaps she was showing off that she got a cute boyfriend. They seem quite together as a couple in the photo, but the coupling of these two just seems odd.

This story is only beginning to be told. So far, not much is making sense.

I've been thinking about the man that drove them home, and while I think some people will find it 'unorthodox', I understand it. I don't know how close his property was to the perps, but if he was a neighbor, and the perps said that they would be back soon, he may have not wanted to risk waiting for the police. Especially if they had weapons, etc. Maybe guns were mentioned and they just wanted to get the heck out of there. I know the police PROBABLY would have gotten there before the perps got home, but what if they didn't and the perps went to the neighbors house? What if there was a nasty confrontation or shots fired? Plus, there were police all over the girls' hometown, so it's not like it would be hard to find an officer once they got home.

In a situation where there are two dangerous, unpredictable people who could show up at any time, I would probably want to leave too. JMO, though. I mean the girls saw the perps, knew where they lived (so did the man who drove them), so I don't think he thought that they would suddenly point the finger at him as the perp .

Also, I think they gave them watermelon vs a cooked meal because it was quick. I think that they were trying to get the girls out of there ASAP. Being Amish, I'm sure that they don't really eat 'processed' foods, so watermelon may have been the most whole, quick, kid friendly food available.

I read on one articles that they passed the perp's car on the way home and ducked in the back seat, so they didn't have a whole lot of time apparently between leaving the neighbor's house and the perps returning.

I find it very strange that they returned the girls rather than call 911 right away. My assumption was they were surprised, of course, and weren't thinking straight. Perhaps they thought that since the girls were Amish, their family wouldn't want to involve the police. But, that's not the rescuerers' decision to make. I don't know what to think of that except it's another odd piece in an odd story.

Regarding the girls seeing the red car, that might be entirely true. Or, it may be just a red car. I'm guessing they aren't practiced at identifying specific makes and types of cars. I'm not either - all cars are sort of the same to me except for size and color. I really don't pay attention because I don't care that much about cars, and I obviously live in a car culture. For these girls, they probably care less than I do and just saw red (literally and figuratively). But, if it's a real spotting of the real car, it's spooky. The perps went searching for the girls for recapture?

On the DM article (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...stall-holding-captive-property-overnight.html)

There is a comment from someone named Gail who says (even though I have not read this elsewhere, so it's not verifiable at this time) that they did call the police and they had a police escort taking the girls home:

Gail, Somewhere in the mists of time, 5 hours ago

This story is missing much and there are some errors. 1) The girls live in Heuvelton, in the town of Oswegachie. 2)The distance is to Richville is 13 miles, not 20. 3) The Stinson's did phone the police then fed those poor hungry girls. The girls were taken home by the Stinson's with a police escort. I assume it is because the girls felt safest with the couple who were kind. These are Amish and they rarely deal with police, plus they knew the Stinson's from their farmstand. This is a very rural area, all dairy and corn farms. 4) The girls are safe. Most of us up here did not expect this happy ending. We don't have this kind of crime happen often. It is an innocent area almost like a place out of time. Think Norman Rockwell. We are shocked and dismayed this happened at all. Weu are grateful the girls are safe, but things are different now and that is a damn shame.

Wow. This is an incredible story. I am so happy the girls are safe now. But also so angry that they experienced such a terrifying ordeal. I'll have to go read up more on these perps. I hope these girls get some kind of follow up with recovery. The Amish community has many gifts and strengths which will aid in healing, but I hope that professionals who understand child victimization issues will also do some culturally sensitive and appropriate follow up.

Thank you for this info. This does make sense and doesn't seem odd anymore. I'm thankful for that couple!

@princesslisa - I agree with what you said about giving the girls watermelon; fruit (especially watermelon and fruit juice) accomplishes hydration and restoring blood sugar levels promptly if the girls had not had food or water for the past 24 hrs. To take the time to give them a home-cooked meal (while good-hearted, and what any Mamabear would want to do) would be fairly inappropriate given that LE were looking for them and the girls needed to be returned to their parents asap.

Pic of him in his pool mid July >> https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd....8_10152270148589092_6860124587504657743_n.jpg

I found a pic of female perp with him on May 8, so they've been together that long. I 'll cruise his timeline to see anything.

ETA He seems to like farm life, rebuilding his house / remodeling, cooking on the grill and indoors , horses and taking the kids on fun outings, monster truck, etc.

are you logged in??

Oh, you have to be logged in ? Okay.

I was just going to have him describe everything to me, so he can do all the typing, and I can sit here and enjoy my coffee.

This is also known as laziness.
