He and his wife apparently divorced in 2012, for what it's worth. Most of the Fbk 'daddy' quotes I've seen are from after that. (He isn't married to Nicole.)

Noting the date of the divorce, SH's FB page shows that he and NV were in a relationship starting Nov 2012.

Sorry, I got confused. Same sisters? Is one 7 and not 6 ? Or is this different victims? tia

Some articles say 7 years old, some say 6 years old, but all say the older sister was 12.
Maybe the younger girl just had, or was about to have a birthday (hope not)

http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/amish-girls-sexually-abused-in-n-y-abduction-prosecutor-1.2738818
"The seven-year-old and 12-year-old sisters were abducted Wednesday in Oswegatchie and were set free by their captors Thursday".

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/dad-of-abducted-new-york-amish-girls-says-he-feels-sorry-for-suspects/
"The parents of the 6- and 12-year-old sisters spoke to the Johnson Newspapers at their home in Oswegatchie on Sunday, two days after Stephen Howells Jr. and Nicole Vaisey were charged with kidnapping with the intent to physically or sexually abuse the girls".

Can you clarify something for me, if it's possible? Was the sound proof room info. discovered before or after this abduction? I assume after, because if someone knew of it WTH would you not call the cops?!!

Eta: I mean did the commenter indicate when they knew of the room.
The post didn't say--the quote was pretty much the whole thing--but I imagined it was something they learned from investigators.

It's actually a German dialect. Most if not all Pennsylvania "Dutch" (Amish or Mennonite) are of Germanic origin (Deutsch). :) (Know this only thru ancestry study...I have Swiss and Germanic Mennonite in my family history.)

ETA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania_Dutch

That's exactly what I was saying, their dialect. I guess I worded it odd, but I was referring to the dialect of Pennsylvania Dutch...

Gotcha, okay.

Has anyone found the exact date these 2 🤬🤬🤬 linked up, because, I am seriously wondering about Elizabeth and Lyric.

JMO

LE said they'd been together for about a year and a half; (FBK also says they've been in a relationship since Nov. 2012). I get the feeling that, while devious and rotten, they had not yet escalated to murder with their victims.

One more thing, just kind of eerie. SH's FB is open right now, and there are photos from his childhood. The artist's sketch of the Amish girl is the SPITTING image of someone who was obviously important to him when he was young.

Good post, T-Rex (#108). I got the feeling that SH returned to Hermon after his divorce, so that "couple years" makes sense to me. As the sheriff has already reported, family roots there go back a ways. I feel sorry for any family having to deal with this in a place that holds family history.

Earlier today on this thread, another abduction-release case was brought up. A woman in PA abducted a young girl from her classroom, abused her, and then released her in a park. The female defendant's trial started today, Mon, Aug 18, with jury selection and a turned-down plea offer. Here's an article about the trial's opening day:

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news...ction-Regusters-Jury-Selection-271657271.html

I have no idea if there is any link between the PA and NY cases or between any online/real-life communities, but possibly?? There is some speculation that the PA female perp didn't act alone.

JMO.

I don't know about online stuff, but I remember when this happened. This woman dressed up in muslim (?) garb, face/head covering, and picked them girl up right from her classroom. The girl thought it was a relative (aunt I think?) and walked right out with her. If I remember correctly, the woman was African American (but I've proven before that I'm a lousy eye witness so don't quote me on that!). It does seem so unbelievable a woman would do that, and have acted alone, but I don't think there have been other arrests?

I have a sound proof room in my house, and the only thing that goes on in there is working out. The guy who lived here before us was a music producer and it was his recording studio. My sis also has a sound proof room in her house, although I don't know why (it was also there when they bought the house). Maybe the previous owner played the drums. It would be easy to make up a reason for building a sound proof room other than "Oh, that? I intend to torture children!"

I think this is yet another classic example of the fact that the Boogey Man never really looks like the Boogey Man (Richard Ramirez, aka The Night Stalker, and a handful of others, being the exception).

FACT: perverts who seek out children almost always ingratiate themselves into situations where children are easy access. Single moms are a classic built-in cover. As are jobs/careers where kids are central/common to the job. I'm assuming the kids in the FB are his and his ex-wife's kids but has that actually been confirmed?

Yes, they are his own children; however, his ex-wife had custody -- but he must have had visitation rights, as there are a number of photos of the kids over at his place.

But looking at the OTHER perp -- that young woman has worked as both a substitute teacher, and, more disturbingly, as a resident caregiver for developmentally disabled girls. If girls are in residential care at a young age, they may be non-verbal, and unable to tell someone what's going on. That just makes me want to weep. Not to mention that she had access to SH's children.

I can relate with this local. One of my high school alumni's was arrested in one of those soliciting children stings last year. Many of us (alumni's) had him as a friend on fb and voiced how creepy it was to think he was looking at photos of our kids on our fb. He commented on some of their dd's pics how beautiful they where. Disgusting! Makes a person feel violated just having known what they did and that they had access to your private life. You just really don't know people even when you grow up with them.

I have recently reset my security to limit my children's photos to just a group on FB that I have grouped as Family versus all Friends. Just a suggestion if this continues to be a concern .

The Mennonites here do speak English, as well. I definitely think it varies, because Amish aren't centrally governed. .

Most Mennonite children go to regular public school or sometimes they have a private church school, but it's also in English. For the Amish (and maybe the Old Order Mennonites?) who have the little one-room schoolhouses -- I suppose that their level of English depends on their teachers -- since the teachers are also Amish, and only have 8 years of schooling. Or, they may have good reading and writing skills, but their verbal skills may be a bit lacking. However, it appears as if most of the Miller family can speak English relatively well, since both the mother and father, older brother and older sister all spoke to the journalist for the Watertown Daily interview.

Isn't that special!

Does this mean a trial so that plenty more money can be wasted on these idiots?

I so hope not. Those poor little girls have had enough trauma. I sure hope those despicable creatures man up and do the right thing and take a plea.

Fwiw, Have noticed over the years, that when a parent is suddenly and demonstrably involved with their kids, a surprising ( to others) and acrimonious divorce is usually in the near future. imo.

But, in this case, it doesn't appear to have been an acrimonious divorce. He had visitation rights, apparently, as frequent photos of kids at his place or them out together. And she kept several of his family members as FB friends and even commented on his FB page. She must not have had an inkling that he would possibly harm a child. Maybe she knew he liked things kinky, but figured it would stay in the adult realm. I can't imagine the agony she's going through now. I also wonder if NV led him down this particular path.

Noting the date of the divorce, SH's FB page shows that he and NV were in a relationship starting Nov 2012.

I wonder if Judas can tell us the date that NV advertised herself on fetlife. If Nov. 2012 or a little earlier, it might indicate how they met (media is saying they met "online").
