I'm still puzzled about the police interview with the perps at the station. It sounds like the perps drove themselves and voluntarily showed up to be interviewed? Where they contacted by LE beforehand but not apprehended? I'm missing something.

This article says that the sheriff's deputies "escorted" the red car away from the property. In today's article, the lawyer for NV says she voluntarily turned herself in. It sounds like LE asked her (and apparently SH) to go down to headquarters to answer questions, and they drove themselves, but were followed by LE just to make sure they didn't pull a runner.

Completely agree. I am also in the lifestyle with a Marine and I can not even fathom how this is being compared!!! She willingly went into this relationship and was in it for years. She apparently went to the police and admitted to this crime while they were still looking for the kids... wondering how that could be possible if she were a POW!! GRRRRR!

No, the girls had already been returned to their homes. The girls were apparently able to tell the sheriff's deputies where they'd been taken, and able to describe the two vehicles, so LE was able to hone in on the Howells home. I think those 2 little Amish girls were a lot more savvy than those 2 creeps expected them to be! The deputies escorted the perps to the station, but they voluntarily turned themselves in. (they didn't really have much choice)

The detective who gave testimony today only mentioned NV's testimony. She apparently sang like a canary. Wonder if SH just kept his mouth shut or what?

perhaps I misinterpreted this?

Oh I am sure he did. There's most likely enough video evidence that will show exactly his place in this. Though, I certainly hope that whomever brings any BDSM into the courtroom educates themselves prior.

You are ABSOLUTELY correct, these two did something VERY wrong and ILLEGAL, the lifestyle is NO excuse... PERIOD!

"sigh" This is what gives the lifestyle a bad name, and I'd say 95% of those who choose this way of life, are hard working, average everyday folks, who do NOT break the law or harm children.
You're right on that! People do use labels and group people into the same clubs. Think about the priests who have abused children, then people want to make fun of ALL priests. Same with cops now. But I don't think I've ever heard of a couple who enjoy living their lives like this, to ever harm children. If so, it wasn't mentioned. I don't think it had anything to do with it. Pedophiles come in all shapes, colors, sizes and ALL lifestyles.

This is a photo of their driveway. So, you can see how it ends well before the house, but you could just keep driving right over the grass to park closer to the house.

Thanks for posting this photo - it makes the quote about being 30 feet from the driveway make sense now. The driveway doesn't extend all the way to the house, but I'm assuming she meant that she backed up all the way to the house when she had the girls in the car.

Apparently the choice of where to drop the girls off was random

That's actually not true at all, since SH has a very close friend via his FB that actually lives in that area. I don't think it was random at all.

ETA: Just wanted to clarify that I don't think it was random at all. *Because* SH has a close friend in the exact same area I suspect it was one of the first places he thought of, to release the girls, that wasn't too far away.

What does "send it to superior court" mean?

I'm thinking it might mean due to the nature of the crime, instead of a lower court that handles less serious charges, they believe it warrants a superior court that routinely handles more serious/felony cases.

I'm not sure if I want to throw up or freak out more at that statement. Comparing that to POWs?! Really?!

I think you're likely not alone in that observation/feeling. I suspect her attorney has no idea what he's talking about, and likens whatever she's told him to what he understands about prisoners of war. Frankly I think he'd do well to read up on this kind of lifestyle before he opens his mouth. OR... or, he actually does know a little bit about the lifestyle and he's hoping for public sympathy to get his client off, or charges reduced somehow. All MOO.

"She said their plan was to make the two girls their slaves"

This would be more credible if they haven't already determined there were other victims.

"This is a very unusual circumstance where somebody potentially charged with a very serious crime, about as serious as they get, drives themselves to an investigatory agency and then talks to the investigators," Vaisey's attorney Bradford Riendeau said. "That's bizzare in this business."

http://binghamton.twcnews.com/conte...ithout-bail-in-amish-children-abduction-case/

I suspect it's possible she had a momentary flash of Karla Homolka and figured since the media was ALL over it, they'd both be found out sooner or later. In which case, the best head-game thing to do is play the victim-card and cry "slave, he made me do it!". Almost identical to the garbage Homolka pulled. Don't be shocked if it's later revealed she claims he threatened her or her family's safety. She doesn't even need to know who Homolka was or know the case history, people like this just think this way naturally. Simply because they're wickedly deceptive and always looking for ways to please themselves without taking responsibility.

The trump card of course for the prosecution, is what was found on their hard drive(s)/e-devices in the home, and the *likely* fact that she registered herself on fetlife long before she ever knew Mr. Master, aka SH.

I'm wondering what's been revealed (if anything) about the other 4 potential victims we were hearing about via MSM?

Oooooh. Poor NV. Yes, let her go home., must be so tough for her in jail. I am sure everyone is crying for her.

She needs to be locked up because she is a sociopath. She has no feelings or understanding of people at all, except for HERSELF!

Grrrrr!!!!!!

I can't picture a sociopath agreeing to be submissive or voluntarily going to the police station. I think she's very, very messed up, but not a sociopath.

I reserve the right to change my mind, however.

Do we know if SH went with her to the police station or if he was hauled in after she started singing to them?

It's a confusing statement, but I believe what is meant by "search" here is when the search was on for the kidnappers, not the girls. It wouldn't make sense for NV to go into LE and confess, and then go back and help SH drop the girls off.

ETA: "During the hearing, Det. Sgt. Bigwarfe said he first spoke to the girls at 8 p.m. last Thursday night, when they were found. He said he first met Ms. Vaisey at approximately 4 p.m. Friday after she drove to the sheriff’s office in a red two-door Pontiac Sunfire."

I wonder if she thought because she was a woman, they would believe her or take pity on her. I think it could be the case. I think she was shocked that she didn't walk out of the LE office that night. If she went and talked before he did, she thought she could get her side of the story in, and they would believe her. Not really, no, and defiantly no. In fact from what I've seen subs that have self esteem issues actually have more trouble with it. No matter what situation or what you do there is no magic way to depend on anyone else to make you truly feel better about yourself. Thats just going into it for all the wrong reasons.

To answer the question there isn't really that interesting of an answer. It just fits with my personality style and what makes me happy. I dont really have a way to explain why. Why do people love chocolate?

I think a lot of the not understanding why someone would like it is because a lot of the perceptions are wrong. Im a confident woman, I have a job that requires great decision making skills, and I actually make most of the day to day household decisions as well as those involving the kids. For me it's a mostly just in the bedroom/when with friends kind of thing anymore so I might not be the best to answer.

Honestly when I see people like these two that's not part of any lifestyle that was them playing a game and calling it something it wasn't. That's not our lifestyle, and it's against everything we've ever believed in down to the core. Then they decided to take it to the most horrible place a person can go and blaming it on something they were never a part of.

I can put a fish bowel over my head and say I'm an astronaut, but I'm really just a weirdo with a fish bowel on her head.

With you, do think feel it's kindof a thing like "I'm so sick of making all the decisions in every other part of my life, I just want to just have the decisions made for me for once?"

Entirely possible. At 25 I was a college graduate and married, but waaaayyyy more naive about life than I am now. I'd venture to say not at ALL as smart as I am now at 41, almost 42.....

There are actually some powerful people within powerful companies that enjoy it (though I think that's just on a sexual level) for that reason I think. For me personally no not really. The best way I can describe it is that being in that role is just what feels natural and right to me.

ETA: I'm going to answer that one in private to give a little better perspective and because I think most people here are over talking about it.
